Toodoped: these days lots of people that I know lost their families and everything they had because its legit and even youngsters can chip in
Toodoped: Same as the mob paying sites...ppl pay for "Disneyland" and wiki mob stuff, something which they can find it on their own with a simple google search
VanillaLimeCoke: Lousy school violence these days. Not even a 6th of the way through September and we've already had a psychotic violent school shooting.

Are any of the members big players of this game? Cause evidently it's making a comeback. Bocce in New York There was one corner of Woodlawn that seemed as if it would always remain stubbornly Italian: the bocce courts in Van Cortlandt Park. But as older Italian men died or moved away from this north Bronx neighborhood, the nightly bocce games stopped. Weeds sprouted. Children mistook the rectangular courts for sandboxes. Dogs ran loose on them. Eventually park officials considered razing them to make way for more benches.
Then came the unexpected. As the ground thawed in late March, new players surfaced, with shovels and rakes to pull out the weeds before starting games again. Only these were not the men of old — they were not men at all. “Now it’s a new age,” declared Maria Maksym, 67, one of the new players. “It’s old women.” Though a few men appeared, they have watched curiously from the sidelines.
“I think they’re waiting for the women to do the cleanup, and then they’ll join,” said Josephine M. Bastone, founder of the newly formed Bastone Bocce League, which is tossing around team names like “Bocce Babes.”
The bocce revival has happened all over the country as a dusty old game favored by Italian old-timers has evolved into a trendy social sport — one largely without taxing physical demands— played out on neighborhood courts as well as in more glamorous bocce halls complete with bars and bands. The goal of the game is for players to toss a ball closest to a smaller ball — called a pallino — that serves as a target. In New York, where bocce has long been found in Italian enclaves like Little Italy, the game has increasingly spread to other neighborhoods and been embraced by a new generation of players from hipsters in Brooklyn attracted by its throwback appeal to gray-haired ladies in the Bronx eager to reconnect over the slower rhythms of an earlier time..
"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives." Winter is Coming
Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

I saw the moon Saturday night, but it didn't appear unusually large, but it was bright. Of course, I had had a lot of beer and about a dozen shots of tequila, while celebrating Cinquo de Maio, so I honestly don't know what the hell I may have been looking at. I was mad that I missed the event (cloudy weather) so I stuck my ass out my window. Someone on the street looked up and yelled, " HOLY SHIT, LOOK AT THAT FUCKING MOON".

I spent the whole evening checking on the moon outside and yelling out, "It's Cosmo's moon!" I truly love that scene where she tells him he looks like he's 25 years old. I smile every time I watch it. I love the scene, too, gina. The guy is the spitting image of my dad's cousin, and I was very fond of him, so it makes me smile, too. One of my favorite movies!

My grandmother, Mildred Murphy, is celebrating her 98th birthday today. She's still sharp as a tack even though she needs a cane and has lost much of her eyesight.
I asked her today how she would like to celebrate her 100th. She said if she lived to 100, she'd die of embarrassment.
For those of you lucky enough to have a living grandparent, please realize your blessing.
Kly that is so wonderful AND you are right, we all should realize our blessings in our parents & grandparents. God bless her. My father, who passed away a year and a half ago, had a wonderful sense of humor. A restaurant in their area would, for your birthday, give you a discount percentage of whatever your age was. My dad was 80 something when he went there on his birthday. He told the family afterward (jokingly), "I can hardly wait til I'm 100". TIS

98, wow... that's great, Kly!
If my memory serves correctly, I lost all 4 of my grandparents between (my) age 12 and about 22. And they were all mid 80s to mid 90s. I miss them, so continue to enjoy them!

That's a short window, in which to lose all four, Geoff, but it's nice you got to know them all and they had full lives. Both of my grandfathers died in their 80s, in 1969 (before I was 5) and 1993 while my paternal grandmother died at age 92 in 1990. I should add about my living grandmother that she had a cousin, who died in Illinois a few years ago, who reached the age of 110. But she didn't smoke or drink like my grandmother.

I should add about my living grandmother that she had a cousin, who died in Illinois a few years ago, who reached the age of 110. Wow!! 110?? My dad's father was the youngest of 19 children. HIS parents lived to be in their upper 90s. They lived in that general area of Russia where many live into their hundreds but they starved to death in the 1930s. Other than that, longevity in my family doesn't exist. I've already outlived both of my grandfathers.

Was there a famine in the 30s that led to their starvation? It was something to do with social unrest but I don't know the story. My grandfather (the youngest of the 19) died when I was a year old, but you are right about one thing.... from what I heard he was one major tough guy. One quick story ... he had come here to the U.S. around 1912 or so with the Merchant Marine. He jumped ship, married my grandmother and they had two kids. He became a plumber by trade and they lived in Brownsville, Brooklyn. In about 1926 or 1927 he took my dad for a day in Coney Island. There was a crowd around something on the boardwalk. My dad, about 8 years old then, fought his way to the front to see what was going on. It was an act called "The Mighty Atom", a strongman who went around performing feats of strength (you can find some stories about him on the internet). He took a horseshoe, wrapped its ends with cloth and then over his shoulder he'd bend the horseshoe straight. Afterward, he passed the shoe around the crowd to show everyone it was real. When it got to my dad, he held it up to his father and said, "Go ahead, Papa, bend it back". The crowd around them started laughing, and even though my grandfather was something of a showoff he declined at first but soon changed his mind when he thought the crowd was laughing at my dad. He took the horseshoe, and without benefit of cloths on the end and without benefit of leverage over his shoulder, bent the shoe back to its original shape. Years later, he opened up a storefront gym for the kids in the (poor) neighborhood. One of those who came in to work out was bodybuilder Dan Lurie who went on to much fame.
