I always wondered why some people wondered about post totals.

The board has been counting posts for almost eleven years now. There was a long time that games here on the board were included in the total posts (and that inflated some post counts).

Right now, the chickens are sitting in my husband's recliner watching the Yankee game.

Be sure to change the channel if a KFC, Shake n Bake or Perdue commercial comes on the tv.

They seem to like it. So do the cats, of course. The cats approach the chair and just sit and stare, but don't try to touch them. It's quite contrary to when they see a bird in the yard and try to catch it.

Thus, it's true: your chickens do come home to roost!

I think it's all staged. I've never had one. I wish I would in the form of my parents or deceased wife appearing to me.

Ah! I see I'll have to divulge some of my trade secrets.

It wasn't very difficult. Usually I do a Google Image search for what I want. In this case, I used the words "animated chicken emoticon" and found two worthy candidates. The URL's for the chickens (from two different websites) were then inserted into the posts as images.

Also, I keep several websites with smileys and emoticons bookmarked - much handier that way.

You can always trace the source of an image posted on the Boards by right-clicking on that image, then, when the pop-up box appears, click on "Properties." Then you will see the URL for that image.

After we took my daughter to college Mrs. Mark cried hysterically the entire way home and most of that night. I assured her that we would see her again very soon and everything would be okay. She told me that it had finally sunk in that our son was away in the Navy, our youngest was now gone and she would be stuck with me all alone in the house for the first time in 25 years!

I am lucky that my older daughter commutes to college, so I will have her home.

SB, you might be changing that "lucky". Kidding. Nice to have them home.

Our daughter was a 2.5 hours away, so we could hop in the car if necessary. But I remember the first drop-off. We were both fighting back the tears for about 50 miles before we uttered a word.
