I have to agree with Chopps. All of Europe call the game "football". The game started overhere (Europe) and when the game later spread to Africa, some few African countries (I think Nigieria being one of them) started to call it "soccer" so that the game would not be confused with "American football", a sport that had been established allready in America.

There is a funny saying about football (soccer) and rugby, by the way: "Rugby is a hooligan´s sport for gentlemen, while football (soccer) is a gentleman´s sport for hooligans."
