Very nice to support you argument and specifically do a search on soccer vs. football, albeit only posting one and going back nearly 5 years before either one of us registered here.

In the States, only kids who couldn't succeed in football play rugby out here, it's almost as douchey as lacrosse.
Soccer is also great for the poor as all you need is a ball. Though that does not entirely clear up the argument of soccer being a sport for immigrants those un-Americanized
The whole of Europe (and that includes Great Britain and Ireland) call it
football. Whatever you guys call it down there is of little importance to us.
