My understanding is that both of them were made sometime around 1985.

This is interesting, I made a thread on this about a year ago and a lot said they weren't. Is there proof? They were with the Gambino's in 83 and maybe 84 so it would be quick to get made into a new family in a year or two?

I have been looking but haven´t found any proof. Somewhere in the back of my mind I do remember reading that they were made. And mentioned in the same sentence was (if I remember correctly) their initiation was a "thank you" for a job well done. (The Roy DeMeo killing.)
I think both of them had a good relationship with the Luccheses. Especially Joey whose brother Patty was a Lucchese member.

You would think Al D'arco and Casso would of told the Feds when they flipped, perhaps they did. I was wondering HK, the Gemini twins were convicted in 1989? Were these charges all from their Gambino days under DeMeo? They were free for 6 years after DeMeo was murdered, did they carry on murdering after they left the Gemini crew?

It´s complicated...

In 1984, the government filed a 78 count indictment naming twenty-four defendants, including Senter and Testa, and alleging eleven different conspiracies. So it was a massive and a complexed trial.
Initially both Senter and Testa were acquitted (or in some cases the jury were unable to reach a verdict) of several charges including the car theft operation, murders and participation in dismemberment of victims.

http://findacase.com/research/wfrmDocViewer.aspx/xq/fac.19880216_0040987.c02.htm/qx

I don´t know what charges they were found guilty of. But it seems to me that they were tried again, a couple of years later on the same charges and were convicted of racketeering and 10 counts of murder. After a string of appeals, in 1989 they were finally sent to federal prison to serve life. I believe these charges all stemmed from their crimes commited while working for DeMeo.

According to Anthony Casso, Testa and Senter were responsible for the Vladimir Reznikov murder in 1986. If Casso is telling the truth (and I have no resaon to doubt it in this case) it does look like the "Gemini Twins" carried on murdering even after the DeMeo period.

You've got almost all the answers to these except for the youngest one in the photo to Scarfos left. I believe that's Leonetti's son. In the Primerime interview he did, he talked about his son and they showed this exact picture zoomed in on the kid with his face blurred out.

That was incredible. DiFronzo gets out of a meeting with Marco D'amico. The reporter asks him about Marco and DiFronzo claims he's never heard of Marco D'amico in his life.

He's old school pal, very old school. And smart as hell too. Its no coincidence that him and Joe the Builder are the only two of the Aiuppa/Tuna days still out and about. He doesn't shoot his mouth off and lives very quietly, but still commands a hell of a lot of respect...despite what some people seem to think about outfit guys these days.

That or either he's that secret high ranking Outfit informant (revealed in court papers) who has been working for the feds for a long time now....just a thought...

No he was not named in the indictment. They did bring him up during the trial numerous times though, but Lumbo and the German were the only 2 guys from North of Roosevelt who actually got pinched. (Little Jimmy and Mickey ran Cicero). For people to think Mr. Difronzo was in any shape or form cooperating because he avoided the secrets trial is insane. Why not Sarno? Or Toots? Or the builder? Or better yet, Pizza Al (who was still alive at the time of the indictment) Those fellas have been around for ages and weren't named either.

The whole secrets trial was based on two things: 1. The Calabreses. The US attorney here in Chicago had a hard-on for Frank/Nick going back decades, and once they got Frank Jr's pathetic ass to cooperate, they new they'd have nick because he was weak and couldn't stomach life in prison.

2. The Spilotro bros. killing and sefiert's murder had been haunting Mitch Mars and those guys the same as Calabrese, if not more. They wanted the german and joey real bad since the 70s-80s because of those two things. Also, the fact that nick squealed and said little jimmy was there ended up being a bonus because he had just been named street boss. What better headline than to take a "boss" off the street? I've heard conflicting stories from people throughout the years as to whether jimmy actually drove mike and tony that day, or was just there, but one thing I've always heard was that John D was NOT present. The southside guys were the ones who really had a problem with Tony and Mikey.

And to answer you question about the video, its from '09 I believe. I used to eat at the restaurant "The loon cafe" with family all the time (grew up in River Grove), and it closed down around 2010 I believe?

There has always been the belief in Chicago that the Feds have been working on "Operation Family Secrets 2 Trial" aimed at the DiFronzos. You have to wonder what Nick & Frank (Jr.) Calabrese told the Feds about the two DiFronzo brothers. Not much was said about them during the 2007 Family Secrets trial.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if another round of indictments came thru in the next couple years. But really, John-D would pretty much be the main target. Maybe Joe the Builder, but he's been sick and laying low. Used to see him around quite a bit at various restaurants/bars, but not anymore. Sarno is gone for awhile, plus Tornabene passed away a couple years ago, so the big name guys are sorta gone. There are a few guys remaining who wield power, for which I won't name names, but they're on those charts.

Francis Turatello

Born in Asiago, the son of an unmarried seamstress living at Milan and returned to his hometown during the war, according to many sources was the natural son of Italian-American mob boss Frank Coppola said Frank three fingers. He moved with his mother in Milan (Lambrate district) since childhood, amateur boxer in his youth, makes its appearance in the criminal Milan as a small car thief, and then move gradually to impose his personality, taking on roles of increasing leading up to reach the head of a criminal gang (consisting mostly of immigrants from Catania) addict to the control of the gambling dens of the city and the exploitation of prostitution (activity in the period of greatest success invoice tens of millions of lire a night ). He also participates in several robberies and kidnappings, with the complicity of boss of the Banda dei Marsigliesi Albert Bergamelli.Turatello is famous for the fierce rivalry, born from his youth, with Renato Vallanzasca, which results in a bloody feud with the many victims of both fronts. Later, after the arrest of both Vallanzasca and Turatello takes place a gradual rapprochement between the two friends shake that (among other Turatello will witness the wedding of Vallanzasca in marriage with Giuliana Brusa held in prison). There is still debate today on the position within Cosa Nostra of Turatello, but it is believed that during his criminal career was often in contact with senior members of the Neapolitan Camorra clans and families in Sicily. The figure of Turatello also appears in many dark episodes in the history of Italy of the seventies, including the kidnapping and murder of Aldo Moro and some criminal acts done by the Magliana Gang. After a lengthy fugitive was arrested April 2 1977 in fairly random Cordusio Square in Milan, tried for a long list of offenses is sentenced to a lengthy prison who is serving under the regime of rigorous imprisonment. Turatello was killed August 17, 1981 in prison in Sardinia Badu'e Carros by Pasquale Barra, Vincenzo Andraous, Antonino Faro, Adriano Danilo and Salvatore Maltese in a very brutal: will be stabbed and disemboweled, and his heart checked out and bitten. The motive for this murder is still mysterious, but certainly an end so terrible - and the consequent destruction of the body - revealing that he had committed an offense very great. Some sources date back to the New Organized Camorra order the murder, but there still remain reliable sources. Francis is buried at Turatello Monumental Monza.

Massacre of the boss Francis Turatello August 27, 1981

Pasquale Barra one of the men who killed Turatello, and he will thrust its teeth through the heart

Is pulling a guy's heart out and biting it, all that much worse than stuffing a severed head into a compacter, or cutting off a dick and sticking it in said severed head's mouth?

I'd say they're about even... lol
