I think it's fascinating how despite the massive flack NBC got for tape-delaying the sporting events for prime time TV, the ratings were insanely successful overall in spite of the fact that many people may've already known the results.
I still watched the events even though I knew the outcomes. The coverage has been very good with just the right amount of human interest stories. The only error by NBC was squeezing Tom Hammond into a jogging suit to broadcast the track events.
