Montreal's notorious Irish mob has had an extremely violent and interesting history. Many thought that since the late 90s, early 2000's they had all but faded due to the heavy weights on the Mtl scene, the Italian mafia, street gangs and bikers. However if one were to observe recent headlines, it would seem that the Irish are making a resurgence, most likely due to a battered Old Guard slowly losing grip over the Underworld.
The W.E.G has been a long time partner with nearly all elements of the cities criminal elite, however they are still an individual entity that operates by their own rules with their own rackets.

Some questions are being asked about the ownership of a graffiti removal company that does a lot of work for the City of Montreal.
La Presse reports this morning that AV-Net has fallen into the hands of the West End gang. The report says AV-Net was transferred into the hands of gang associates after the owners fell behind on an extremely high interest loan.
AV-Net has since done 1.7 million dollars worth of graffiti removal for Montreal. Here is a drug trafficker with links to the west end gang, he's lost his parole due to suspected arson.
Suspected Arsonist This was also the work of the West End Gang, who are often considered the gate keepers of the Montreal Port due to their control over the port. Stereotypical Irish eh?
