I'll have to work on my patience aswell Originally posted by ginaitaliangirl: Debz, congratulations and good job on setting such a wonderful career plan so soon! I wish I was as organized and set as you are! I have considered teaching, as well, and I think it'd be a great job to have. Good luck! Well, I have chopped and changed my mind for the past couple of years but this past month I have been really thinking about the Primary Teaching and think I would really enjoy it. But I have been through so many other professions in my mind its unbelievable!! That would be cool if you did teaching aswell well good luck with whatever you decide to do, do you still have another year yet though before you have to start applying to collage and universities? Originally posted by Sicilian Babe: Debz, That's wonderful!! I always wanted to teach, but when I went to college there was a huge surplus of teachers who couldn't find jobs. I have always been a bit sorry that I didn't follow my dream, so I think that you're going down a path that you will love! Teaching is a very rewarding job, especially when you're dealing with little ones. Thanks Sicilian Babe, sorry to hear you didn't manage to go down the path of teaching when you wanted to I am sure it would be a very rewarding job and one I would like to do, so hopefully with a lot of hard work over this next year I will get into my course. Thanks Turi but by the time I have done all the course and teacher training I could be old, fat and wrinkley like the Primary Teacher I had

Thank you! I'm just a junior, so I still have time, but the schools are really encouraging students to start thinking about college and already look into applications and scholarships this year, which, while stressful and scary, is sensible.
Hey Bogey, good to see you here again! Hope you still enjoy yourself there. [/b]Gina, Junior year is important because it is the last full year a college will see of you. I don't remember when you start applying to colleges but there isn't enough work done in your senior year when they see your grades. In other words don't do what I did, 3.9 freshman, 3.95 sophmore, 2.3 junior, 3.9 senior

It's not that bad, I was the same as you, anything over 5 pages I thought was an all night affair lol Then I got to college and now I'm BEGGING for 10 page assignments lol
Read during commercials of the baseball games, that should give you a distracted head start on it.
**boys at school
Let me tell you something else about hard teachers, I had a teacher my Junior year that EVERYONE hated (except me lol) he gave us tons of work, was VERY picky when grading, cut no slack etc.. I got a C-,C,C- then the last semester I worked my ass off and got a B+, when I got to college the professors seemed like a JOKE compared to my old teacher. So even though it sucks now they are preparing you for whats to come, college is by no means "hard" but any tricks, habits or anything like that you have over others definitly helps.
If a teacher gives you lower than an A then I'll be on the first plane out there lol, and just make a list of the guys that get out of hand, I can't keep jumping on a plane every week you know lol

I sort of figured what I have now will seem like nothing once I get to college, which is somewhat why I'm dreading college. I'm just trying to find a good compromise between reading carefully and slowly enough to retain the information for the tests and reading fast enough to not waste the whole night on what's actually not a huge assignment. You did mention I'd be distracted, but would you really recommend reading during games? My mom won't let me, anyway, which I can understand, but I honestly think the homework would distract me from the game more than the game would from the homework. I definitely see where you're coming from on a difficult teacher preparing me. I had a semi-difficult teacher last year in history who was tough, and I can tell I would've been in terrible shape this year if it wasn't for her. I'm sure this year's one will also prepare me, as yours did, which ends up being worth the trouble. You'll just be my school consigliere, okay?

I like it on Conan O'Brien when he pulls that lever, and you watch like a 20 second clip of Walker.. I die laughing everytime. Conan is a funny funny man. Go meet some other girls, stay away from the college guys Eh, I'm on day 4 of classes here, and I'm still miserable. Absolutely nothing to do.. except go to Shooter's and get plastered and get pregnant by some guy who you don't even remember. No lie- I was walking out of the dorms today to go find some food, and there was this girl talking with about 4 or 5 other girls and she said.. (again, no exaggerations here) "OHHH MYYY GOOODDD YOU GUUUYYYSSS. THE LAST THING I REMEMBER FROM LAST NIIIIGHT IS LAAYING DOWN IN BEED MAAAKKINGG OUT WIITHH HIM.. AND, LIIIKEE HE WAS TOTAALLYY THERE WHEN I WOOKEE UP THIS MOORRNNINGGG.. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK HAPPENNEEDD??" ... you got drunk and had sex with a random guy. I wanted to slap her. That's how most of the people here are. Me and my roommate have made a few friends... but none of them are straight edge like us.. They drink.. or smoke.. or both. But they're at least moderate about it. There's people here who go out every night and come back at 3 in the morning (i know because my window is right above the doors to get in). I don't know how they do it, and still pass. I wanna go home. Gah, alright I guess I'm done ranting for now.

I got a cast on my left arm today. I broke a bone in my wrist last Saturday after falling 8 feet to the concrete floor. I was at work when it happened, so they've payed for everything. However, they have taken no measures to ensure it won't happen again, so I'm half tempted to call OSHA and let em know. They could face up to a million dollar fine. I'm typing most of this with my right hand. The cast is around most of my hand, including my thumb, and extends down to about 2 inches above my elbow. They stabilized my thumb too because the bone I broke happens to be where my thumb meets my wrist. I have to wear it for 6 weeks. I haven't even had it on six hours yet, and it's driving me nuts!! Then after the orthopedic surgeon removes it in six weeks, I have to go through six intense weeks of occupational therapy. So I can't play guitar for at least 6 weeks!!
"Growing up my dad was like 'You have a great last name, Galifianakis. Galifianakis...begins with a gal...and ends with a kiss...' I'm like that's great dad, can we get it changed to 'Galifianafuck' please?" -- Zach Galifianakis
