After a couple of years of seeing this show in the top 5 of almost every list of the best TV comedies, I finally committed and gave it a go. I've just finished the first season and have found this a very interesting series, that is growing on me. it's very unconventional in how its set out, no laughter track and real oddball humour. Certainly I can see why its considered a "cult" show.
Certainly its not the sort of show that would appeal to the general population of idiots (the type who think two and half men is the funniest thing on TV). This is what I like though, its really different and wacky. I love the characters too, it cracks me up that Michael Cera is called George Michael LOL. Certainly its a very talented cast of actors.

I couldn't click on this quickly enough!! I first watched it about a year and a half ago, thanks to a friend trying to convince another friend to watch it. It is truly one of the (or the) funniest shows I have ever come across, and I'm constantly amazed by how clever it is. You can watch it again and again, and every single time, you'll catch something new. In fact, I'd recommend paying close attention as you watch the first time through, because there are so many "tricks" and references to previous jokes... the excellent writing rewards you for minding the details.

One of the things I love most is how, once you're done with it, you'll find yourself wanting to quote and reference everything you saw - which is especially amusing because it involves such an oddball family and such ridiculous events. There's something to love about each character. Buster and Tobias are my favorites, but they all have their moments, and the real hero is Michael - his "straight man" reactions to everything are gold.

I'm certain you'll enjoy the rest of the series as much as the first season, and I truly believe that you'll love it even more upon repeated viewings!

In my Top 3 of all-time favorite shows. Would love to see another season or a movie. George Michael, G.O.B., and Buster are my three favorite characters. Just a well-written, witty show that pushed the boundaries. Great guests and nobody was above making themselves look like complete idiots. I loved that the writers made Henry Winkler's character gay and the references to the Iraq War. The episode where the hiding convict father was underneath a hole looking like Saddam Hussein was classic.

Nicky out of interest who is your fav character? Iput my friends onto this they all love it but we all like different characters. My personal favourite is g.o.b. Hoping this thread gets more active cos this is an amazing show. Goombah - new season with all the orig characters (supposedly) next summer bro

Wow Caramel I really hope a new season does see the light of day.

It could re-emerge and be like Family Guy. That was taken off the air and then came back. I doubt AD could sustain as long as Family Guy after the latter's return, but it would be great to get a few more seasons.

Hi Camarel I love George Michael and Tobias so far, but now I am really appreciating Jason Bateman's acting, I love the story line of George Michael and his plain girlfriend Ann and the undertone of snide remarks about her from the other Bluthe's lol

Season 4 filming underway

This may be old news to some of you. A 2013 release on Netflix is planned.

I saw something in an interview recently where the plan is to do about 10 episodes, and most of them will feature one of the characters and say where they've been and what they're doing.

Then supposedly a movie is planned to come out.

Anybody see the new episodes on Netflix yet? I watched the first two. I liked the first one, but the second was average. I'll be watching the remainder of the season in the coming weeks.

Hi Goombah! I watched the first episode and I think that was pretty pretty pretty good.

I'll be watching the rest of the season when I get my hand on the rest of the episodes.

It gets alot better from episode 3 imo, i've only seen the first 5 so far though.

So, I watched the 2nd, not that good, but I liked the 3rd. I've not watched the rest.

That scene when Buster had to inhale his mother's smoke was priceless! He's such a pushover.

Yeah, that was priceless. But I think it was smoke he wasn't happy about, pretty much he wouldn't have any problem to act like a six months old around his mother otherwise.

I had not laughed out this loud for anything funny on TV for such a long time. Ep. 5, license plate reads: "ANUSTART" Supposed to be read as "A new start."

That's awesome - I have yet to get that far. Glad to see the writers still have that special touch.

Kind of like Tobias listing on his card "Analrapist" - the world's first analyst/therapist.

Well, with all the storylines they left hanging there, I'm not sure if a movie is going to tie all of them up nicely. I'd think there has to be another season.
