Wasn't that photo already posted once before?

I seem to recall it a little while back.

Now, I'm going to give you a photo that is guaranteed to get your gray matter working.

The person in the photo was ten years old when this picture was taken in the late 19th century. He is long-deceased, but he was very famous in the field of performing arts.

See if you can figure this one out.

Before the clue I thought it was Dan Rather. My guess now is Stan Laurel.

None of the above - not Chaplin, Laurel or Fairbanks. And definitely not Dan Rather! lol

Some more clues:

Like Chaplin and Laurel, he was not born in the US. And, like them, he found his greatest fame from his work in this country (but he was known internationally). His film career started back in the days of silent movies and lasted nearly fifty years. He also acted on the stage (even Broadway) during his long career. Television, too.

He was even honored on a US postage stamp.

Think it over.

Not Robinson, but a good guess.

As a matter of fact, our Mystery Guest did make a few gangster films. He was in a very famous gangster film, but this genre was not what he was particularly well-known for.

Interesting trivia: He could be, at times, quite reticent about his private life. During his lifetime, it was not commonly known that he was, in fact, married five times!

He was also a Grammy award winner, but he was not particularly known as a singer.

But, like Edward G. Robinson and Desi Arnaz, he had a very distinctive voice. To this day, people still do impersonations of it.
