And if I'm a GUY, and I'm GAY, and I go to a gay bar with other gay guys who want to have sex with me as much as I want to have sex with THEM, then I could get laid 5 times a day if I wanted to! When you're a guy trying to get a girl in bed, there's all these mind games you have to play with her. When you're a guy and trying to get a guy in bed, all you have to say is "let's fuck" and you're in. Literally. So yes, being gay is better than being a straight fascist message board mod. While you're deleting threads and banning posters, I'm getting POON TANG.

Ugh, my roommate is so narrowminded. We're in the same Journalism class, and we've got an assignment due in a few weeks.. Question #2: Sound Recording At the turn of the century, the NPR radio news shows All Things Considered and Morning Edition put together a list of the 100 most important American musical works of the 20th century. This is a fascinating series covering everyone from Jimi Hendrix to George Gershwin to Aaron Copland to The Ramones. Go to the NPR 100 web site, pick one of the compositions, and listen to the streaming radio broadcast.
Then, in a brief essay (350-500 words) explain why the piece of music was selected for the list and how you feel about it being on the list. I do not want you copying the material directly off the web site. To receive a grade of B or higher on the assignment, you must use at least one outside, credible source about this piece of music. (By credible source, I do not mean a casual fan web site.) Make sure you list a citation for that source at the end of you homework. What one piece of music was not on the list that you would have included? Why?
Then we go to this site and pick a song and write about it. She says "Waaahhh the only ones worth doing on there are The Ramones, Nirvana, and Jim Morrison." Me? I can't pick.. there are too many good ones to choose from.. I really had trouble narrowing the list down to THESE ones... theres still a lot on the site that I'd like to do.. "As Time Goes By", Born to Run (album), "Fire and Rain", "Give My Regards to Broadway", "Good Vibrations", Guys and Dolls, "Hound Dog" & "Don't Be Cruel", "I Got Rhythm", "La Bamba", "Like a Rolling Stone", "My Girl", "Night and Day", "Peggy Sue", the musical score from Psycho, "Rhapsody in Blue", "Rock Around the Clock", "Singin' in the Rain", "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay", West Side Story, Wizard of Oz.. I mean, I'm really going to have trouble choosing Born to Run is my FAVORITE Springsteen album... but some of my favorite musical movies are on there.. and also some of my favorite songs. I'd do Nirvana, but everrryyonnnee and their mother's going to be doing them. And then (I guess) as a jab to me, she was like "But oh Katie, they have Bob Dylan on the site.. you can do that one!" And then she did the stupid annoying giggle thing. WHAT'S WRONG WITH BOB DYLAN?!?

Ridiculous. It reduces writing to math personified by literature. I agree 100%. I hate when I'm told what to write, how to write it, what to include, and how to structure the paper. That's why I usually get bad grades on English papers, I don't follow the guidelines.

Not to minimize the work and research you guys have to do, but damn, I wish they had the internet when I was in school & business college. I remember checking out lots of books and/or going to the library and doing research. It is nice that much of your research can be done on line. I assume that's allowed no??? Good luck to you all.
