Lol I joked to a buddy of mine today about the south wanting to secede again and I said "by God let them" :lol"
But this wasn't just the south. Petitions came from Michigan, New Jersey, and New York as well, all blue states.
Fact is President Obama isn't Hitler or Stalin, just like George Bush wasn't, both are and were really unpopular with the other party. But this is America, we aren't turning into something we aren't and while I may disagree with the President on many issues, he's still the President. He won fair and square, and for the good of the USA people need to stop being idiots about this.

i'm not a political expert, so if someone wants to go pick through what i have to say with a fine tooth comb to try and take away my credibility, go ahead i think people are more worried about one group(regardless of which side), trying to impose thier beliefs/ideas on them, which is where at least some of this secede talk comes from. let me elaborate... regardless of which side you voted for(i voted for neither as i'm not gonna vote for somebody who i disagree with on so many fronts, meaning both parties) there is alot of division in this country and the close election proved this. we live in a country of around 330 million people, so the bottom line is no matter who wins, alot of people are gonna be unhappy. this is why i believe states rights are so important, particularly today. some people might have a different view, but to me the way the country was set up was so that if the area you live in has some laws/rules/regulations that you don't agree with, either try to change them or move to a state that better suites you. what we have evolved into is a country where what the almighty feds say goes, which leads to countless problems as its hard enough to please a family of 4 in terms of whats for dinner as opposed to an immense population when it comes to the many complex political issues that we are facing. both parties always claim to be for states rights, but only when it seems to suite thier particular agenda. whether the issue is economic policy, gay rights/marriage, gun laws, immigration, medical marijuana, let the states decide. with that said there is always some asshole with some whitty comment like "well, what if the states wanna legalize child porn" or something similarly stupid. not gonna happen, as the majority of people have alot more common sense that the federal government gives them credit for. this is why i believe that local/county/state elections are more important now than ever as its just an impossible task to please everyone in a country as diverse as america. just my two cents guys

But I think you may be seeing more in the story than there actually is. I seriously doubt that even a sliver of those, who put their names to the petitions, would be willing to secede when push came to shove. The number of names is more of a reflection of the ease of the use of the internet, more than it is a political statement. Frankly, the petitions carry no weight or force; it represents a small and loose, but vocal, collection of malcontents.

At least liberals were saying them move to France. Republicans want to secede. Both extreme moves, Afs. One is just as stupid as the other. Let them all go if they're unhappy. That's all I'm saying. Granted, but the difference is that they didn't want to take the rest of the people in their state who disagreed with them to France, like these favoring secession want to do.

Barack Obama won the election. He did not win by stealing the election. Voter irregularities always happen. It is one reason we support voter ID rules. But even in the worse scenario of reports out there, there were not enough tales of voter irregularities to matter nationwide. This is another benefit and built in safeguard of the electoral college.
Barack Obama won. He won by turning out the most people in a well run campaign. In other words, he won fair and square. We here at RedState are American citizens. We have no plans to secede from the union. If you do, good luck with that, but this is not the place for you....
..Too many people have spent the past four years obsessed with birth certificates. Now they are obsessed with voter fraud conspiracies, talk of secession, and supposed election changing news stories if only we had known....

Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Anything super liberal or super conservative is just downright annoying.

In terms of a person not having loyalty to their country true, but they are not the same. One wants to leave, the other not only wants to leave, but to drag others with him as well. Cannot be the same logically.

because public officials aren't having (to waste time) to reply to Alec Baldwin's temper tandrums. Yeah, he's about who I'm talking about, Ronnie. You're lucky you don't live up here where he's in the paper almost every day. But you see, that's how I know I have no problem separating art from life. I think Baldwin is impossibly funny with a dry wit. The guy makes me laugh and I'll continue to watch him. Meanwhile, if I saw him in the street I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. But you're right, blowhards like Baldwin are pretty much harmless to the general public (if not to their own children when calling them fat little pigs ).

We should give Texas provisional secession. Pull out al federal aid, all social secuity and medicare, all border patrol, all tax breaks for oil companies and all other federal subsidies. They'll be begging to re-join the Union in a week. Pretty much what I said. They couldn't protect the Alamo today.

So now Austin wants to secede from Texas and join the US. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitio...states/TDD212hQPeacefully grant the city of Austin Texas to withdraw from the state of Texas & remain part of the United States. Austin Texas continues to suffer difficulties stemming from the lack of civil, religious, and political freedoms imposed upon the city by less liberally minded Texans. It is entirely feasible for Austin to operate as its own state, within the United States, in the event that Texas is successful in the current bid to secede. It is important for Austin to remain in the union as to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers.
We would also like to annex Dublin Texas, Lockhart Texas, & Shiner Texas.

^^^^ Austin is unlike the rest of Texas. It's really a great place. I'd welcome them to the United States .
