Two kids were taken out on stretchers here last night. Apparently dead. I saw one of them, with the sheet pulled over his/her head.

Word on the street is either drug OD or suicide.

This came after I found out that a kid from back home who was only 16 hung himself yesterday.

And when I say "here", I mean JUST in my dorm.

I'm not sure if I knew them or not.. Everyones keeping things hush-hush around here. It only happened LATE last night. From what I've heard, at least one of the people who died was a girl from 3 floors up from me. I'm going to do some sleuthing later and try to find out more info.

They basically put the dorm on lockdown last night though, and wouldn't let anyone come in or leave the dorms.. and they wanted us to stay on our floors.

I was by myself in my room because my roommate had gone up earlier to our friend's room. I didn't feel like being alone, so I tried to go up JUST 2 floors, and Thilanka, the local asshole tried to make me stay on the 2nd floor. I however basically told him that I was NOT going to stay in my room by myself and that I WAS going to my friend Sean's room whether I had to drag them down the hall with me or not.

Needless to say, I won, and got an escort to his room

I heard another girl who I guess knew one of the people that died wanted to leave the dorm entirely, and they were threatening her with police force and everything. She left anyway too. They wouldn't even let people go right outside the main doors to smoke cigarettes because they were so stressed out.

When it comes to stuff like this, I'm a little girl. If I were to hear someone died/committed suicide/was murdered in the same building as me, I would have jumped out a window.

They're filming a scene for the HBO show The Wire on the 8th floor of the hospital I work at. I don't watch the show, I don't even have HBO. But it's still strange just the same to know something's being filmed in the same building I'm sittin at right now.

I went out of doors without a hat today for the first time!

It is SUCH a good feeling to actually begin writing a script for a movie idea I've had rolling around in my head for like 2 years. I enjoy every minute of it.

Had an overnight move at work. Now, do you realize what a huge pain in the ass is moving? Sure you do. Well, I've been staying in this previous room for some 10 years: had no idea how much rubbish I've been collecting all over the years. 12 cartons of documents and other unidentified objects and over 90 (yes, I said 90!!!) folders. All of them in a 15ish square meters room!!!!

And as if it wasn't enough.....

apparently this move is just temporary. Very. In fact it turns out I'm going to have another one on Monday....

How angry can I be???????

Just worked 10 hours at work because we had to do inventory. I'm pretty tired to say the least

I went to see a hand surgeon today, so he could look at my wrist.

I need orthoscopic surgery. They basically poke two holes in my wrist, blow my wrist full of air, then insert a scope and look around. They do this to assess the damage that's been done.

If it's as bad as the doctor believes, they're talking about permanently stiffening my wrist. Basically, they'll cut the ligaments that allow me to bend it up and down, and then insert pins so it stays straight. Permantently.

I'm pretty bummed.

Well, those are the consequences you must face if you want to jerk off 6 times a day. You have no one to blame but yourself.

In all seriousness, no. I'm right-handed, and I thank God that I sustained this injury in my left wrist.

If I have to get this other surgery after I have the orthoscopic, I'll have no relevant use of my left hand anymore. I'll be able to move it side-to-side, but not up and down. I'll never be able to play guitar again. I'll have to learn a different way to play piano, and type. It'll be a permanent disability. That's what got me bummed.

So, update on the death here.. Apparently it was only one, not two. And it was a guy, not a girl. And it was a hanging, not an OD.

The University released the name on MIX, our college website thingy.. and I looked him up on Facebook.. saw his picture. I've seen the kid around the dorm a lot. He only had 14 friends on facebook though Today I went to Tech Support to figure something out for my computer, and the kid who helped me looked EXACTLY like the kid who died. I stuttered a lot and was speechless for a while. I probably looked like an idiot.

Anyway, heard on the news that it was an "accidental hanging".. and that this is a new fad. I've never heard of it. And I don't see how you could hang yourself on accident. Like the news guy said, "More at 11."

There have been several reports on news and "entertainment" networks about the new "choking game" fad. Supposedly you strangle yourself just to the point of almost passing out, then when you wake up you're supposed to have quite a high. Some kid died hanging himself from the rope off a swing set. They tell parents to tell their kids about drugs. Now instead of saying no to dope we have to tell kids to say no to rope.

I don't know whether to laugh or be concerned, where do kids get the idea of hanging for high

I had gone to rent movies at blockbuster, where I heard the godfather theme. When I looked at the tv with surprise, it was an ad for the game

XDC, that's terrible! I'm so sorry. I really hope you don't have to get the other surgery and can instead retain the use of your hand. I can't even imagine how difficult that would be.

My mom has had surgery on both of her wrists in which a particular joint was removed, due to arthritis. She's worked both of them back to "normal" after each surgery, through hand movements that the doctor recommended as a kind of physical therapy. Just losing the use of her hands for the period of time until they recovered drove her nuts. I teased her about her handwriting and said that the Easter Bunny had visited us whenever I saw one of her (many) post-it notes around the house, because she was writing like the "Easter Bunny" used to when I was younger.
