What I meant is that, even if they become totally legitimate, the crimes they have committed before are still there and their money is still "dirty money", so allowing them into legitimate business is a shame even if they stopped committing crimes. They should do their prison time first (of course that will never happen, I was just speaking theoretically).

I don't know, but why then there are no big Russian mafia trials in the USA since the arrest of Vyacheslav Ivankov? At least I haven't heard of any in which a big boss got a heavy sentence.
