How many made members would you estimate The Soprano family has? Am I completely wrong in thinking about 30?

Obviously we barely, if ever, see members of the Gervasi / Barese crew, and the suggestion is that Junior’s old crew has a few members we never meet.

At Gigi Cestone’s funeral Tony looks at Gigi’s crew for a potential new capo. There are only 3 or 4 guys slumped on the couch. Obviously there may have been other lesser members not seen, but the suggestion is these are the only guys Tony has to choose from. And even in Tony/Paulie’s crew, for the first 4 seasons at least, it would appear there are only about 4/5 full members.

I think I remember hearing something about the Barese crew being the largest, but in a family which appears to average about 5 men per crew, that may mean he still has less than 10 men, right?

So 5 crews averaging about 5 men, with a couple exceeding that number, plus a 3-man administration of boss, acting boss and consigliere? That would suggest about 30. Or am I completely wide of the mark and have somehow missed the fact there are a number of semi-autonomous crews we never meet?

we dont see all the soldiers in the show. The barese crew is suppose to be large yet we only see larry boy and albert. they didnt have the time to show the whole family

Obviously they didn't introduce every made guy that could potentially be in a NJ family, would ruin the show, at around the time of the start of the Sopranos the NJ family in real life was actually going pretty strong with around 60 made guys.

Only 16 made Caporegime's have been reported in that family.

Nicel list there's a few small mistakes though Patsy is in Tonys crew not Juniors and i don't think you find out which crew Philly or pats in.

Carlo is in Jimmy Altieris crew not Tonys he's later made capo Gigi is in the Aprile crew not Tonys he's also made capo.

I'm not positive but i thought Eugene was in tonys not the Aprile. Then i don't have a clue why you have the Baresis and Tony B in the Altieri crew.

Though Eugene was made along with Christopher in 2001, He became important into the Jackie Aprile crew. He ran a card game which was later robbed by Jackie Aprile Jr also in 2001 (Season 3)

When Feech La Manna was released from prison, He took his old crew back which Larry Boy Barese took over. Larry Boy returned to the crew that he belonged to, the Jimmy Atlieri. His younger cousin Ally Boy Barese also switched as he worked alongside Larry Boy Barese.

Feech doesn't take over a crew when he is released all he gets is some business and his card game back. Larry is a capo from thee beginning of the largest crew he was never in the Altieri crew. It's also never revealed which crew Feech was originally capo of.

No, Feech is allowed his crew back but didn't have any members in it. Barese was under arrest at the time and moved over. Feech was convicted in 1984 and Larry Boy Barese was involved with Johnny Boy Soprano.

I think you maybe talking about when Feech tells tony he wants back in on the action and Tony tells him as long as you don't step on anyones toes then gives him a few jobw and his card game back. It's never said he becomes a capo again though especially not of Larrys crew like you said cos Albert is still acting capo of the crew at this point .

Larry may have started in Johnnys crew but he was never in Jimmys crew like you said, he was one of the original capos in the 1st season alongside Jimmy showing that he wasn't in his crew.

I understand you now. I'm thinking outside the bubble, Before The Sopranos was even aired. The Logic of it all. In season 5 (2004), Feech has his own crew without any members. I'm sorry but that site means nothing thinking outside the bubble is good but it's never said or implied Feech regains his crew. He regains some power that's it though as far as it's shown regardless of what that site assumes. Also it's not shown in the series Albert working for Carlo ( who is capo of the Altieri crew ) as far as i'm aware he's a soldier in Larrys crew until his arrest at the end of the 1st season when he becomes acting capo.

A few pointers on this post
Feech wasn't out of jail enough time to build a strong crew so he probs had one or two guys from other crews (bear in mind he had guys rob that wedding)
Also being a TV show the HBO couldn't introduce us to each and every character if they did we'd still be watching it today
