the only guy who has anything to worry about is the big guy out near you, pizzaboy. Barney? Four reasons. 1) He's young by comparison. 2) He was close to Vince Gigante 3) The Feds never wanted to give him that deal in '96. They were hoping he'd take it to trial and get beat. Even with the twelve years that he was inside, they knew he'd come out in the prime of his life. 4) The Feds redux. They're still smarting over giving him a year for fucking mail fraud when they thought they had him dead to rights on a murder rap. A murder rap that he was innocent of, by the way. The star witness there, Pete Peluso, is as big a lowlife as God ever made. What did that piece of shit accomplish besides getting a 75 year old barber indicted and scaring him half to death? And just for the record, Barney would have eaten his own arm before turning on Ralphie. They were that close. absolutely right. his every free breath insults the fbi. i have heard similar things about him and ralphie always being together. i had a friend who did his business around zerega avenue where they held court. he better hope no one around him turns 'bad', hes got a lot of 'baggage'.

There was a bar on the corner of Zerega and Westchester Avenue called "The Shack." It was a dump but it was there forever. Come to think of it, the place has probably been closed for close to twenty years (Christ, I'm getting old). Anyway, Ralphie was in that place all day long. Angelo Prisco owned half the block. Literally. Those were the f'n days. But no more. No offense, but today if you don't speak Spanish, you can't even order lunch on Zerega . (That's for my buddy, Dapper. He's a great Dominican Bronx kid, and one of our best posters ).

I know for a fact he killed more than one. How could you say that? You dont kno for a fact, you THINK you know. Okay then. Sammy was involved in crime at a young age. You seriously think Gotti NEVER asked him to commit a murder? We're talking about a senior member. Then all he did was make money and I'm sure if he was that trusted he did more than make money. I'm pretty sure some people in his way that he wouldn't let them go.

Its true pizzaboy i live in Yonkers and a lot of the italians have moved out which sucks. I remember when i was an altar boy years ago on Midland Avenue and a wiseguy gave my friend and I $100 each for a funeral we served in There used to be tons of Italians in Yonkers, buddy. From Midland to Lockwood to Park Hill to all along the Cross County corridor. I had a ton of family up that way myself. But like you said, they've mostly moved to the northern suburbs. I have cousins who moved all the way up to Putnam County. A lot of people call that assimilation and I don't argue with that. I think assimilation is a good thing. But you also have to factor in what they call "white flight." Italians are the kings of that. When neighborhood demographics start to change, the Italian Americans who can afford it tend to take off. Compare that to the Irish, who are too stubborn to leave their neighborhoods (and I mean that with both respect and awe). Woodlawn is virtually unchanged all these years. Sometimes I'll take a ride up to Katonah Avenue because I have an old high school friend who owns a bar up there. That neighborhood hasn't changed in 40 years. Good for them. And unless you're new or living on another planet, everyone here knows that I'm Italian on both sides. Been to Italy a dozen times. Proud as can be. But I'm just posting the truth. When the neighborhoods start to change, the Italians are the first ones out the door.

sucks neighborhoods change... the irish left hells kitchen though They were priced out of Hell's Kitchen, Nicky. Big difference. The Irish tend to have big families. A three bedroom in the West 50s will run you $5,000 a month minimum today. What working class family is gonna pay that? If not for the rents, they'd still be there.

@imamobguy: Doesn't mean he had to personally pull the trigger more than once! Come on, man. We can agree to disagree, but don't make what you THINK to be FACTS. Those are two different things entirely.

A question: who do you think ordered the murder (are you talking about the Coppola one?) if Bellomo was innocent? Just interested. Who says Coppola's really dead?
