God bless those folks at The Onion, a faux-newspaper satirizing culture and the news consistently funny since the 1990s when I first discovered them. They even had a TV show, ONION NEWS NETWORK, that was absolutely hilarious before IFC cancelled it.

So yes, an appreciation thread where I'll be occassionally posting Onion articles and headlines, contemporary and from the past. Like from Today:

My Yahoo used to have a feed for them, which was my only exposure (and it caught me off guard now and then!), but that hasn't worked in a while... ohwell

During the election, I saw people on both the left and right posting Onion headlines on their FB pages as real news stories.
