The first time I saw Notre Dame play in a live game was in the late 70s when the Meadowlands was new and they were playing Navy. My Uncle Jack took me with tickets, courtesy of his friend, Jim, whom we made a point of visiting in the section where he and his companions sat.
It turned out that Jim was Sleepy Jim Crowley, who was the last surviving member of the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame. He lived in Scranton and had many friends there. At the time I didn't realize the honor of getting to meet a living legend.
