Dolours Price, an unrepentant former member of the Irish Republican Army who went to prison for a 1973 London bombing and who recently shook Northern Ireland’s fragile calm by claiming that her orders had come from Gerry Adams, the Sinn Fein party leader and peace negotiator who denies having ever been in the I.R.A., died on Thursday at her home in a suburb of Dublin. She was 61.
Ms. Price, the former wife of the Irish actor Stephen Rea, attracted more public attention than she might have expected in recent years. Since 2011, the police in Northern Ireland police have been fighting in the courts for access to audiotaped interviews that Ms. Price gave to an oral history project at Boston College in which she detailed her I.R.A. career. The United States Supreme Court has been asked to hear the case.
Ms. Price told interviewers that she might have spared herself and her victims had she known that the struggle would end with a peace that left Northern Ireland’s Catholics, in her view, where it had started: under British rule.
“When we starved together on hunger strike,” she wrote in a 2004 essay in Fortnight, an Irish journal, “it was not to ‘move the process forward,’ it was not for seats in a British government.” It was, she said, “to rid this land of any British interference.”

Actually I didn't realize there was a sister still living. 94 wow! I know my parents liked the Andrew Sisters and I remember hearing some of their music. RIP

I figured she was not long for this earth when I read a few months back that she was receiving hospice care and was being made as comfortable as possible.
I still have have a bunch of Andrews Sisters recordings (some on 78rpm), and used to listen to them a lot when I was younger. I thought they were great - one of the very few things my father and I agreed on, musically speaking.

(Reuters) - Chris Kyle, the former U.S. Navy SEAL sniper who was responsible for 160 kills during his career as U.S. Navy SEAL sniper, was shot and killed with another man at a gun range on Saturday, the co-author of Kyle's book said.
A suspect, identified as Eddie Ray Routh, was arrested, according to reports.
Kyle, who wrote "American Sniper" about his military service from 1999 to 2009, and another man were found dead at the Rough Creek Lodge's shooting range Saturday, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, quoting Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant. The second victim was not identified...

The Daily Mail is a UK newspaper that's been around longer than Zsa Zsa - if such a thing is possible.
I see this story is also being carried by other UK newspapers/websites: The Guardian and The Sun.
My old ComputerSaurus can't properly open these sites, but a Google search revealed the news item (from Ali's brother Rahman) seemed to be carried a lot across the pond.
Maybe there'll be something on our local news programs later this evening?
