Thanks for the kind words gang, he did have a good day yes. Plenty of nice gifts and money to spend on himself. The only downside apparently was the fact he still had to go to school

A little American soccer history for you. The US was in the first men's world cup it was played in uragway in 1930. We finished 4th pretty good right.

When they arrived at the stadium everyone there including the players were frisked for weapons. Our teams nick name was "the shot putters"

The US also scored the first world cup Hat-Trick.

The funny thing was that all my kids dig me. I am amazed by that. When I was young I was into doing my own thing. But I know I am definately the best Grandpa I even have hats that say so.

A story of me taking my then 3 kids to see star wars. I could not handle taking all of them to the movies.

So I take them all home. Then I take each one separately to see that movie.

That was easy but taking all of them to the movies at tge same time wasn't ,

Hey New Yorkers! NY has many famous (or should I say infamous) neighborhoods. Are there any which are still predominantly Italian (excluding Little Italy)? If not, what are the ones that used to be after WWII, but have changed ethnicities or are quite a combination?

I am from Italian Harlem.covered 104 street to 120 street 1and pleasant ave to third ave. the government thought they could destroy the heroin trade there so they threw down all the tenements and build the projects. They did not let the Italians into those projects. So most Italians moved into the Bronx. Then the Spanish moved into the projects and that became Spanish Harlem.

But there are still some Italians still there today. Around the corner from where I lived when they threw down that tenement they found the remains of 70 bodies when they dug up the basement.

Now the Spanish are being pushed out of Spanish Harlem and are being replaced by yuppies. So it is becoming yuppie Harlem now

There used to be a lot of Italians in Brooklyn on 18 ave. they are being pushed out by the Chinese.

I think that is backwards. The Chinese are moving in because the Italians are leaving. Also, lower 18th Avenue is being inundated by Russians.

I suppose tomorrow the board will be at a standstill due to the Super Bowl? I hear Lifetime will be having some good movies.

Nah, I have other things to do than watch the super bowl.

Soup bowl doesn't start to 6 pm. I rather watch old movies till then. Plus we are celebrating my oldest daughters birthday in the afternoon.

I can either sit around watching tv or do some work on a job we got that'll have a nice paycheck....i think i'll go with work.

I'd think it will once its closer to game time....I don't see the big spectacle over it, after all it's just another game.

From what I remember, the boards are usually more quiet than normal on Super Sunday.

Oh yea that's right. I liked ALL three performers. Though they all went way too soon, and were just starting, my personal favorite (music-wise) of the three is Buddy Holly. Then again, didn't he have more hits then Valens or Big Bopper?

I do like "Chantilly Lace" & "Oh Donna." I like "LaBamba" too but it's kind of overplayed IMHO.

Funny when I think of this guy he is still in his twenties.

It's like my next door neighbor Joanie when I was 15 she was 30. Had an affair with her everytime her husband left the house to go to work. Now I found out she is still alive and over 80 yrs old. I used to think about her and still get excited because i stll remember a hot 30 yr old older women.Now I think about her at over 80 and the thought of her at 80 makes me sick now.

Anyone remember where Dean died (city) AND what kind of car he was driving?
