Mark, Just my opinion, for whatever that is worth, you should move this to general so more of us "seasoned" (you're so polite) BBers will catch it. That day will FOREVER be imbedded in my mind. TIS

I was in the Bronx bowling at parkchester lanes when they put it on the loud speaker. No emotion they just kept bowling.

You don't have to move it. I was just suggesting. I nearly missed it because I don't post here often. I'll wait for a few people to post because I feel like I've posted my "story" on this before and feel repetitious. I'm sure everyone who WAS around then can tell you exactly where they were. TIS

The thing about the warren commission finding. There was a lot of people on it who had to know their finding was a lie. Gerald ford, John glen, and a senator from penn who is still alive I forget his name. Are they patriots or traitors

My feeling in 9/11 was very powerful. My wife worked in 1 world trade center. I was sleeping then all my kids started calling asking me how their mother was. I asked them when was the building hit. My wife had left for work after the building was hit. I told them she has to know about it by now, and is probably on her way back home. They kept calling to the phones went out. She got back home 6 hours later. You know what you know but then you start yo think differently after 6 hours of waiting for her to come home

I remember his story well, Animal. I remember reading that Captain Patty Brown was his hero all his life. And they both died on 9/11. Spooky. Spooky but inspiring.

And Mark? If by "seasoned," you mean old. I was only four years old when JFK was killed . But I do remember them making a big deal at my school when Bobby was killed.

I was around a year behind you Pizzaboy and obviously don't remember anything from JFK's death. But years later when my family got our first color tv i got the old portable Magnavox B&W set in my room. I used to stay up late and watch the old shows or i would wake up and see if anything was on (Back then there wasn't really much on after midnight) and i remember watching the coverage from LA when RFK got hit. I just remember thinking it was all very surreal.

I was 12 years old when JFK was assassinated. I took the news badly. Kennedy was a hero to me. When you're that age and first start paying attention to world events and your president was a young, smooth talking guy who made the Russians (then our enemy) back down from our naval blockade of Cuba, it was a big thing! You were REALLY proud of your country and of this man. To hear that he was killed was a big blow. I was in junior high school when an announcement was made about Kennedy. We got out of school early and with all the chaos I didn't get to meet up with my friends I usually walked home with. I walked by myself and started crying, something a 12 year old boy doesn't want to do in public. I passed an appliance store (back in those days they used to put the big appliances in the front window) and all the televisions were on display. I walked up to the window and there were about 20 other people crowded around, watching. It was then when I saw Walter Cronkite announce that JFK was dead. Everyone (mostly adults) had tears in their eyes. Watching the news reports on September 11th was just as bad, if not worse, but I was an adult then. I could grasp the enormity of it better than when I was a kid. I can't believe it will be 50 years in November.

though I believe numerous people were thinking about it...
Carlos + Santo, likely with rogue CIA encouragement, made the Jack hit happen. Waaaaaay too much bad juju in 1960s New Orleans to explain away as coincidence, not to mention Bobby K. jumping Carlos' ass to Guatemala. A balls out move for sure... though at what cost?
The question which needlessly confuses people (not here but folks generally) is that YES, Lee Harvey Oswald ** could have been ** the (or a) shooter ** AND there was a larger conspiracy.
Interesting also how G. Robert Blakey was both RICO law mastermind/advocate and leading critic of the Warren Commission Report.

From what I've read Chicago would have had the biggest reason to hit him. It was Chicago who won the election for him and it was Chicago they turned to for help with the Bay of Pigs and the assassination attempt on Castro. Then they had the audacity to sick RFK on the lot of them. There is also not much doubt both JFK and Giancana were sleeping with both Marilyn Monroe and Judith Exner. Russo's book is pretty good. Like I said, he does use some lousy sources, including "Double Cross," which is an obvious piece of garbage, but he also went out and did a LOT of interviews with people who were there. I forget his reasoning for saying that the mob actually had nothing to do with the hit, but remember thinking it was fairly persuasive at the time. though I believe numerous people were thinking about it...

I was 15 when JFK was killed. I was in 5th period English class (Mrs. Bergstrom was the teacher). The P.A. system came on announcing the President had been shot. Total silence in the classroom. When they announced that "The President had died", the teacher looked shocked, closed her eyes and lowered her head. When the bell rang, the hallways were pretty much silent. I took the school bus home and kids were talking about it. One kid, very loudly said "They should have shot him again & again & again." There is hate in every decade I guess. I know that boy's face and it's imbedded in my head. I'm sure I could grab a yearbook and recognize him. Something like that was simply unheard of & shocking. I'll never forget it. I was glued to the tv for the next 3 days or so. Oh, and when Oswald was shot on live tv??? OMG!! That was unbelievable. TIS
