It's incorrect to say that the only Arberesh village in Sicily is Piana degli Albanesi, lots of other Sicilian villages have a strong Arbareshe presence.
My grandparents are Arberesh born and bred in tiny Mezzojuso (PA).
When we go to see our relatives in NY, they go to check a Sicilian Byzantine Church in Little Italy (now run by Ukrainians).
It was funded by an Arberesh Pope who emigrated from Mezzojuso in the early 1900s.
The Italian Byzantine Rite Catholic Mission of Our Lady of Grace on Staten Island is quite active to this day.
I was told that Syracuse had (has?) some pretty big Arberesh population.
And yes, despite being very proud of their own remarkable history, they were/are/can be considered 100% Italians.
