Who was best mafia captain and crew.
Firepower, manpower, financial power. Carlo Gambino. Meeting all criteria and highest level of success in each. Gambino became a Capo under Mangano / Then becomming underboss to Anastatia = Fire power, manpower, financial power. No Prision terms served, Died Peacefully in his bed.

I was always curious as to Fritzy's rank/value to the family. I mostly read hes a soilder but I also read he repped the Genovese fam in a commission meeting in the early 2000's, so idk what to think about him. If I remember right, Giovanelli was indicted as a captain in his 2001 Brooklyn case. By the way, him representing the Genovese family at the Commission meeting in 2000 was a mistake made on the forums. It was actually Larry Dentico who represented the Genovese, as he was on the ruling panel at the time.

I would say Roy DeMeo's Brooklyn Crew. He was a punk, but he had alot of good muscle behind him, in his crew. DeMeo knew how to make money. When I say money, I mean BILLS. Every business opportunity which striked, he went into it. He and his guys also knew how to kill. They were never taught with a gun or anything like that, they were professionals when it came to getting rid of someone. Your perfect command of English is a little suspicious for a former Gambino associate...

Thank you southend, that is his name. I thought Savino had known Gigante's entire crew, and given enough information to bring many of them down. He also wore a wire while with them. A lot of damaging info must have been collected. Savino reported to Mangano directly, never got anything damaging on Chin as far as direct conversation recordings.

The crew known as the "116th Crew," "Uptown Crew," or "East Harlem/Bronx Crew," once run by Fat Tony Salerno, and now by Barney Bellomo, is probably the single most powerful crew in the entire Mafia. Why do you say that Ivy? Well, it's pretty much going to be whatever crew is the strongest in the most powerful family. That would make it a Genovese crew. And this particular Genovese crew seems to be the one that runs things from the top much of the time. In the last 30 years, several of the family's acting bosses (Salerno, Bellomo, Serpico, Muscarella, Nigro) have come from that crew. Another thing to consider is that the crew is a powerhouse in the union rackets. Mainly construction but it's also involved in garbage, trucking, and the waterfront. IVY you've got my vote! I'd like to mention the Roy Demeo crew who had the highest number of auto thefts in NYC history.

Roy DeMeo did serve as the acting capo of Nino Gaggi´s crew briefly around 1980 when Gaggi was indicted for murder. Thanks, I thought i read that in "Murder Machine"

off topic i kno but anyone kno of any crews in monmouth cty nj? Every county in NJ has LCN presence. Monmouth included. MANY guys have their homes/families in Monmouth County. It is one of the nicest and wealthiest counties in the state. Perfect place to raise a family. Gives meaning to the state motto "Garden State". The town I grew up in is known for horse farms and siver queen, white corn. Wish I was still there.
