Why do we think that whoever opened the drapes must have been involved in the attack? With their machine guns, the assassins didn't need open drapes. It was enough for them to see that somebody entered the sleeping room. Michael was lucky that the drapes were open, so he could dive for cover when he saw the assassins or the muzzle flashes.
