I think of all the members who rarely post these days, I miss DMC, Letizia and Saladbar most of all. I'm glad to say that DMC, Salad and I are at least Facebook friends, but Letizia, who was SO much fun, just disappeared one day. frown

I can't tell you how much fun it was to get together with everyone. I was so nervous that first night in NJ, and I couldn't get over how warm and welcoming everyone was.

Hey hopefully I can meet up with some of you some day. It sounds like you guys made some real frienships on here. I've made a few already myself.

On a seperate note though I've always wondered why some of the older members on here don't post in the OC section, though I can sympathize with anyone who doesn't given the idiots we get on there rolleyes I'm sure we could use a little more wisdom and maturity over in the OC.

You must remember, that despite its name, this board didn't concentrate much on real life crime stuff. That came about later after the so-called "golden years" when younger members started to join and didn't want to concentrate on mob films or other media. Some of us "old-timers" would discuss the real life stuff in private.... we weren't used to discussing it in an open forum on something relatively new to us like the internet. Times change. ohwell

As far as meeting others from the board, hopefully we'll get back to doing that.... we ALWAYS had a good time together. Think about it .... you spend a few hours a week together with some people here (even if it's just online). You get to know people, you get to know their stories, their lives. Put that together with meeting them face to face and add some alcohol ( lol ) and it's all but impossible NOT to have a good time. wink

I met BBers in Sept. of 03 in the lounge by the Edison Hotel. I was nervous too thinking what the hell am I doing? I immediately felt comfortable and it turned out to be a great time. smile

Those "bad" experiences make for better memories, don't they? grin

Boy, Capo reminded me of so many more people I miss not seeing around anymore. Don Vercettis and his dancing bananas LOL; I liked Patrick too. Boy did we ever tease him about his Tupac/Shakespeare thread? Good kid tho. Oh, and Letzia was right in my neighborhood (more or less). We talked about meeting up one day but it never transpired. frown Turi use to post way more than he does now. I just love his humor, tho it took me a while to figure out what he was talking about sometimes. wink Anthony Lombardi was nice too. And Don Cardi, where are you?

Capo, I remember one time years ago, you & I were on IM (I believe) and I used the term "don't be daft" and you laughed at me. Apparently it's an outdated phrase. lol

Lots of fun memories!

TIS

BTW, I can't believe I didn't mention PLaw who was wonderful. God, I wish he were here participating in some of the political debates. He loved it and was good at it. He knew his stuff.

AND, another deceased member, Don Colletti was such a nice kid. He always was respectful and friendly. frown

I thought of one more "bad" experience the cab ride from hell back to the hotel from La Veranda in Philly. But when the cab driver did a U-turn Signor Vitelli said "Nice work Lou." Scared as I was hearing that was great.

Well grab DeNiro, Turi, Capo (and I'm sorry I know I'm missing many others UKers) and hop on a plane. Or maybe the BB gang can meet midway. Let's see....out in the ocean somewhere? lol
