Well DT, he probably did allow Fredo to exaggerate his family position and influence over Michael in order to secure Fredo's cooperation. However DT, that doesn't explain why Ola would ask Fredo in th elate night phone call if Frankie was on the level regarding the upcoming meeting with the Rosatos. At that post-assassination attempt point, there was no need to flatter Fredo in that way. If Fredo was Ola's only source of Corleone info, then maybe Ola thought that he would give it a shot by calling Fredo ... that it couldn't hurt. Good point unless he was just testing the waters to make sure Fredo was still with the program.
