All the above is true except you left out: When Club 30 was closed John LaRocca's group, headed by Jo Jo Peccora and Chuck Teemer opened the Jockey Club. It was a couple of miles up Rt.30 and on the opposite side of the road. I can't remember for sure but I believe it was attached to the back Paddock. Chuck and Lil lived in a trailor in back and Jo Jo live in a Ranch next to the Club 30 property.

It is also my belief that they possesed a Federal Gaming Permit accquired from the Jungle Inn in Hubbard, Ohio after they were shut-down. The Permit was in Dom "Moosie" Caputo's name and he worked at the club.

I was never at the Club 30 while it was open, but I scored a hole-in-one on one of the par 3 holes Chuck had built. I went to the Jockey Culb quite often but had to stay in the office.

We went to The Red Dog on Sunday nights so Mom and I could play bingo while Dad shot craps.

My Dad was a degenerate gambler and got to be very close to Jo Jo. Infact they close enough that as a teenager I was a regular at "Uncle" Jo's camp, Charlies Roost, in Tionesta, PA.

Mom and Dad were both close to Chuck and Lil along with Jim and Joan Edwards from Waterford Park. In fact my parents and Chuck owned thoroughbreds, ClaireTee Stables, and raced at Waterford.

Mom and Dad also visited Audley Farms in Berryville, VA. Needless to say we watched the races in their appartment above the track. Believe it or not, there was a $100.00 betting window in the apartment. Jim was the first guy I new that drove a Rolls.

As you said: I knew basically everything about it". If I knew everything then I wouldn't have said "I believe or my belief". Maybe, just maybe I'll learn something, or even better, connect with some old friends. My "smart-ass" days are long behind.

For what it's worth: My personal knowledge goes back to Louie Volpe and Kelly Mannirino. The involvement of the Picola Brothers and T.Dallas in Club 30 is news to me. In fact that is my first and only knowledge of them. Maybe a "smart-ass" actually learned something ;-)

Obviously I still am able to add to my "little bit of knowledge". This was the very first I ever heard of either the Picolas or T.Dallas.

I don't recall that the RED DOD was that far from Club 30. When I was parking cars for the RED DOG, we drove across the street and maybe a tenth of a mile to Club 30's parking lot.

You seem to know a lot about the people that were there. Do you happen to know what the last name was for Jo-Jo's girl friend Deloris?

My aunt was Chuck Teemer's "girl friend" and fronted him the $$$ to get involved with Club 30 according to my sister. Lil's trailer was parked on Club 30 property in the early 60's. The Red Dog was on the upper level of the building just across the PA state line. There was a bar on the lower level that maybe had a restaurant for those that could not get into the Red Dog. My memory of those times is fading but I can still recall some details. If you do not mind me asking, how old are you?

Just came back From Charlie's Roost yesterday. I have been hunting up there for appox 6 years now and see you God-Fathers name (Zebo)on several of the mounts up there, along w/ many pictures. Heard many a story about the camp and the individuals who were there. I am friends w/ the Amato's. I belive his mother was a Pecora.

Frank Amato Sr. was the longtime boss prior to LaRocca and stepped down due to health reasons and his son, Frank "Sonny" Amato Jr. Took over the McKeesport/Turtle Creek gambling rackets and was also married to Kelly Mannarino's sister. Sonny Amato also fenced in stolen goods and had two police chiefs doing collections for him. I believe he died around 2008.
