well, i suppose you could if you really knew what you were doing, but it probably wouldn't last too long! still, the point is that making the exact same make and model illegal because of cosmetic features is silly. for what its worth, most who have shot full power loads out of a 12 gauge with a pistol grip won't be getting any christmas cards from their wrist!
