Who said anything about "deterrence?" That's an old straw man argument that you anti-capital punishment libs like to bring up. The guy is a kidnapper, rapist, and murderer. He deserves the death penalty, plain and simple. Save your mealy mouth "apples and oranges" BS.
I actually agree with Ivy here. The death penalty should only be applied as a matter of justice. It will never work as a deterrent anyway. You can't deter people like this with the threat of death because they just don't care.
