However warm that is, I wouldn't recommend any of my fellow Californians to go to Palm Springs or Death Valley (although don't know who goes there) as they said highs there......120ish. I heard that the temperature could possibly reach 129° in Death Valley. That's only five degrees less than the highest temperature EVER recorded on earth! That's insane hot! You know what they keep telling people out there- It is a dry heat! Yeah right 129 is still hot! Dry or not.

Years back when my parents would visit in the summer, it would get high 90s or so and they'd say the same thing, "I thought it was dry heat, no humidity." But, you're right HOT IS HOT!!! That being said, every time I fly back to MI in the summer I feel the humidity the minute I step off the plane. TIS

I just talk to a good friend in Las Vegas and him and his wife say that it is so hot right now that you can't even step outside on the astro turf without burning your feet. It is not only hot but the strong sun will toast you very quickly if not protected or careful. Even the cat refused to go out. Grabbing a metal car door handle or a seatbelt latch will burn you if it has been in the sun very long. Yet there are lots of near naked ladys by the pool in the casinos. Lots of cool mist machines running around town. and it is about 15- 20 degrees less up at MT. Charles not far from the strip.

In Death Valley .... the overnight LOW temperature was 101°. Ha ha. I have only been thru Death Valley long ago and to tell you the truth, don't know why anyone would want to go there, let alone live there. (IF people actually live there.) FS mentions Vegas though. I gotta say, I have been there in the summer and it IS HOT!!! The upside..... cheap rooms, less crowded, more free drinks and little perks. But to walk down the street...even at midnight??? You roast your ass off. They said, for us, it'll cool down by the 4th. So maybe we'll hit only the high 90s. TIS

It's only 7:00 a.m. here. I just got back from my run and it's hot already. It's suppose to get to 102. I may just go down to the pool today. TIS Good for you TIS, but here is a little runner's advice I heard years ago; it is not advisable to run when the humidity and temperature combined exceed 160. So 80 degrees and 80 humidity is the limit. I like Yogis barometer. A man of great wisdom.

Well I usually am out the door at daybreak and although I can feel it's gonna be a hot day, the humidity is not that bad. But that is good advice. Then again, I NEVER overdo it, trust me. Yea, I like Yogis barometer as well, especially on a hot day. TIS
