Edward Snowden, who leaked the information, is in Hong Kong. On NPR today someone speculated on him trying to negotiate his freedom by blackmailing United States by threatening to leak info to the Chinese. If he made it out of the country with sensitive information, that makes whole scandal worse.
The guy is a nutcase. He bags on the U.S. but speaks admirably about China.
