This whole trial was silly. Ive never been a mob groupie but the govermenent won't rest until the mob is done. Instead of going after some real criminals...especially in Philly.

He gets 16 years for no violent crimes the same day that Massino walks free. Doesn't seem fair.

He received 16 years because he's a career criminal with multiple felony convictions. Let's call a spade a spade here. Prior convictions have always come into play during sentencing. Let's stop with the whole "he got 16 years for gambling" bs. Mousie's no angel and had this coming.

Massino cooperated, Massimino didnt. If Massimino offered to give up the goods on Ligambi and Merlino he'd be out in a year. He knows it. Doubt he'd do it, but thats how the game works.

You beat me to it tjonezee,that's exactly right.It sounds like everybody is saying Massino got 10 years for 8 murders when that's not the case.Like you said he gives somebody up he walks plain and simple.His lawyers wanted 4-6 yrs. if that was the case with the 2 yrs. and 2 mths.already served he would be out by this time next yr.His rap sheet is way too long for that.

Whether thats true or not, these guys know how it works when they get involved. And not for nothing, but Massimino probably added a couple years to his sentence by acting like a jerkoff in front of the judge throughout the trial. A dose of humility would have served him better.

Let's not forget this is the mob we are talking about here. Guys are killed by their friends and even by their relatives at times. So acting like there is honor involved with the mob is something which is, has, and always will be something that is just fantasy.

Prior convictions should not be considered in sentencing.
If a criminal is incarcerated for a crime and serves his time then he should be considered punished and his debt paid to society.
Considering precious transgressions for current sentencing (which this judge did) is repunishing him for crimes he has already paid his due. In effect punishing him twice.

Lets call a spade a spade: he was convicted on gambling (poker machines). 16yrs is a joke.

Lets be honest, only suckers play fair! There's a war going on in the streets and both sides are out for blood, if he would have caught that judge in his world he would have played him for a dope too, people do more crying on here than the one's who actually gets locked up

What were the convictions for? More gambling related felonies? When it comes to the mob, j-walking is a felony.

The point is that's moronic that we are still charging people with gambling related charges. On one side of the state's mouth- it hands out felonies, on the other, it runs the biggest numbers and lottery rackets in the world. Shit I see commericals for these horrific, life-destroying gambling games- but they are run by the state itself. I guess the lesson is that state doesn't want competition.

This was a weak case, weak charges and a moronic sentencing. The FBI needs to be monitoring the psychos that commit crimes like boston and fort hood- and stop pretending its 1950s and we are dealing with MASSIVE conspiratorial crime syndicates. Philly is a fucking street gang.

Yea, because as a society, we want mass/serial killers like Massino, Gaspipe and Sammy the Rat on the street. On the other hand, we are really worried about people providing services that have been offered and demanded since the beginning of humankind.

Everybody keeps saying go after the real criminals,as far as I could see the prisons are full of them.I mean how many mob guys actually make up the population at federal or state prisons.I'd say barely a fraction and these prisons are full so there must be other criminals in there besides mob guys.So I guess they are locking up other criminals also.Also this thing where priors should not count.If me and you both get picked up for gambling and its your 15th arrest for that and my first,we should get the same sentence,something doesn't sound right there.

Priors do count they have laws called 3 strikes and career criminal, and for the people who says its only gambling??? What about the victims of gambling??? Those that are addicted to it, those that get beat up or killed for not paying a debt back, gambling and loansharks go hand and hand, the victims is the ones u should be worried about, not these guys, going to jail is a part of the job

Victims of gambling? Are they like the victims of fast food, beer, cigs, the plethora of everyday decisions that many of us make because this is a free country that might not be good for us? God forbid people make ill advised decisions- they are not victims of anything but their limited mental capacity.

If you really feel this way- do you think EVERY state governor should go to prison for feeding this horrific gambling addiction (ie lottery, power ball, legalized gambling insitutions)

You would think after 6 (at least one of which was for narcotics trafficking)felony convictions maybe he would have said enough is enough. The judge sees him for what he is; a repeat offender, hence the extended dentence. It works that way for everyone, not just so called mobsters. No one put a gun to his head and forced this lifestyle upon him. He knows the score. It's the price of doing business in his line of work.

What exactly is mousie meant to have done? Realise the errors of his ways age 60, go back to university, study hard for 8years to become a doctor and age 68 start working at the local hospitals as an intern?
