Alleged Miss. Simon City Royals gang leader indicted on racketeering
Jul. 16, 2013 2:06 PM | 0 Comments

Metro-State
A man described as the leader of a Mississippi chapter of the Simon City Royals street gang has been indicted on a racketeering conspiracy charge accusing him of attempted murder, kidnapping, bank robbery, drug distribution and bribery.

An indictment says 37-year-old Jason Marshall Bullock, also known as "Sir J-Mac," was a leader of the group operating out of the Hattiesburg area. The indictment was filed on May 29 in U.S. District Court in Hattiesburg, but the case was sealed by the judge until Bullock was arrested July 9 in Pensacola, Fla.

He made an initial appearance in federal court in Pensacola on July 10 and was ordered held without bond pending transfer to Mississippi. Jail records showed he was still in the Escambia County jail in northwest Florida as of Tuesday morning. He gave an address in Century, Fla.

A federal public defender in Florida who was assigned to the case was in court Tuesday and did not immediately respond to a phone message.

The indictment says the Simon City Royals gang was formed in Chicago and spread throughout the city in the 1960s and 1970s before branching out to other parts of the county, including Mississippi. The gang has been involved in murder for hire, gambling and drug trafficking, the court document said.

Bullock, who identified himself as the "Prince of Mississippi," sometimes traveled to Chicago to meet with gang leaders, the indictment said.

The indictment said that in 2006, Bullock and others conspired to murder Joseph Shelton, who was assaulted and shot. The court document said Bullock ordered gang members and associates to kill Shelton, but it didn't say why Shelton was targeted or offer details about the shooting.

Gang members also bribed a Forrest County deputy in 2008 to deliver contraband to Bullock while he was in jail, according to the indictment. The document doesn't name the deputy and it doesn't describe the contraband.

The oldest crime listed in the indictment was in 1998, when prosecutors allege that Bullock and other gang members robbed Citizen State Bank in Seminary, Miss. In 1999, Bullock was sentenced to a little more than four years in federal prison after pleading guilty to bank robbery, according to court records from that case.

He was arrested again in 2006 and pleaded guilty to a federal charge of being a violent felon in possession of body armor. He was later sentenced to 15 months on that charge.

Bullock has also faced numerous state court charges over the years, including grand larceny, selling marijuana, aggravated assault and perjury, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

He was most recently sentenced in state court in 2008 to four years as a habitual offender for perjury.

Mississippi Department of Corrections spokeswoman Tara Booth said he completed that sentence in September 2011. http://www.clarionledger.com/viewart/201...d-racketeering-

I must say your on fire this week with these post Scorsese. If he identified as prince of mississippi then that would mean he holds the 2nd highest ( or 3rd) rank in the simon city royals here. Then he's networking with the chicago leadership which also means that some chicago gangs are still organized.

the smaller you mob the better you're able to control it

it wouldn't be smart to try to call it for 1000 people

it's easier to control 100-200 people and you can have bail money for your guys

True. Yet even in todays time you had a latin kings leader with thousands of of subordinates. Also, there are thousands of royals here in the Sip. They aren't a small mob.

What exactly are the Simon City Royals? I think I may have seen a documentary about The Dixie Mafia in Biloxi. Are they white? Black? Latino?

Don't know much about them but I know they were founded in Chicago and are predominantly white.

A white street organization that started in chicago in the mid to late 50s than expanded throughout time but shrink in the 80s & 90s. Mainly the area is the northside of Chicago, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida, and Mississippi. They aren't all nor exclusively white and have latino and black members.

I went to The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg from 2001-2005. After graduating I lived there for three more years. Never heard of this gang in my life. I have been pretty much everywhere there is to go in that town and never seen any evidence of gang activity. Now there are some thugs who think they are tough guys but I don't really think they are an organized gang. The drug trade in that area was run for years by David Warner, a Black Mafia Family member. He was a friend and partner of Craig Petties, a very powerful drug dealer from Memphis. In 2004 Warner fled to Mexico to avoid arrest and was taken in by the Beltran-Leyva cartel until his arrest a year later. Now most of the drug trade is run by dealers from the capital city Jackson, MS. I think this is a case of the authorities trying to make this arrest sound much bigger than it really is.

Its amazing how big petties was, he was actually in hiding with warner and was ordering hits from mexico whilst under the protection of the levya cartel.

Which would you say was bigger BMF or the Petties organisation(also a gangster disciple)?

Are there any BMF guys still active or is it a defunct organisation at this point?

I think the bmf probly wouldve gotten away with what they were doing for a little while longer had they not started their own record label, their a lot less flashy fronts they couldve established.

They had connections to puffy they even shot and killed one of his associates in atlanta. It was actually the low profile one out of the two flennory brothers that got caught out first not the flashy one. DEA knew what they were about for a decade before any of the music label stuff and i think Big Meech either thought he was invincible or just didn't care at that point.

Bmf was strong, it was basically 2 organizations in 1 with the 2 brothers, they had guys in all of the major cities, they could have been bigger than u.s. steel

Now, BMF I have definitely heard of. I lived in Atlanta and the Flannery Brothers are very well known and still have many operatives on the streets from Cali to Atl. The majority of the organization was ICed but get still have players out their. Young Jeezy was actually one of their first artists when they created there Music Prod. Co. and supposedly they still have an open contract on his head because he never gave them and points or percentage of his money once he made it big and they sunk a bunch of money into him and still haven't seen a dime. Big Meech was quoted as saying "I got 250 thousand if any wants to take care of a Snowman for me".

These guys sound like a bunch of dumb asshole hotheads. They made great melodic music that will be appreciated 50 years form now like the Beatles.
In fact they should have named their Company 'Blackbird', after that great Beatles Rap song written by that Gangsta Paul McCartney.

BMF was big time but they relied on Craig Petties and the dope he brought in. Petties brought in weed and cocaine by 18 wheelers from Mexico and his Beltran-Leyvan connection. BMF branched out and found other forms of income but the drug trade was always their number one money maker. There are some guys left on the streets but most of the big time guys are locked up. No idea who is leading them now. As an aside, are there any NBA fans on here. You may remember Lorenzen Wright, NBA player who was murdered. All signs point to Petties as the one who ordered the hit. If you are not familiar with the case it is very interesting.

Do you recall ever seeing a bunch of those thugs or others wearing their hat to the side? And you never seen any chi gang graffiti? I ask because their are active gang members in that city ( SCR,GD,VL,Crips,Bloods) but too much. It can be that the activities are subtle.

I heard a few people refer to them as white Ds and that's not true. Since they been active before gds existed and don't forget that their small numbers in chicago doesn't make them less formidable.

Didn't Southwest T (younger brother) had the direct or middleman contact to the mexican cartel? He based his crew in L.A and network with a crip and piru set for distribution.
