After a few weeks of good weather for us, it has been back to showery spells and muggy heat the last week or so, although it is forecast to get nice and hot again at the weekend and into next week

We're into the monsoon season here in the High Desert. Daily, highly localized, periods of heavy rain at T-storms. Yesterday we had a cloudburst here that must have put over an inch in less than an hour. My property was covered with marble-sized hailstones 2 inches deep. Hope some of it fell on that fire in Yarnell, 30 miles south of here, which took the lives of 19 firefighters.

Absolutely boiling again. Sick of this heat wave now, where's the rain and fog gone???

Little warm here today with high around 90 but sunny and beautiful.

same here. We're in the high 90s with terrible humidity. I left a couple of muffins in a plastic package in my car. The heat had expanded the air in the package so much that the packages popped. The muffins were just as though they'd been taken out of the oven.

It's too hot here in the East - 95, 96, 97 degrees. You don't want to be outside. Yech. I pity the highway, construction and utility workers. In my younger days, I was a lineman and splicer for NY Telephone. These kind of days were brutal. Climb a pole oozing creasote, belt in and transfer cables from the old pole to the new. Sweat, sweat, sweat.

Going to 100 again this weekend.

We just got back from Target a little while ago. It was still 87 degrees outside. It's been brutal.

Pretty close here SB. I think it got to 89/90 degrees here. A slight breeze helps a little.

Today is supposed to be the hottest and most humid of the week. I was outside a little while ago, and it didn't feel as bad as I thought. Maybe I'm getting used to suffering.

When I got in the car after work today, the thermometer read 101. That's just ridiculous, isn't it?

We have been more overcast today but still awfully warm. where is the rain?? This is England, we normally have 5 rain showers a day, we have had no rain for 5 weeks

We have been hearing all the utility companies up in the Northeast are calling for line crews in case that bad weather acts up. I'm hoping we're on the call list so I can fly up that way to help out if so.

It is only 86 and muggy here in the Deep South today which is about 10 degrees below what it should be for this time of year so we've been lucky so far. We are getting kinda soggy though.

Last night around 11:30 pm we had a wicked lightning storm. One bolt was near our house. The light and CRACK were simultaneous. No wind really. So dixie, I don't think you will be coming to South Jersey....maybe later this year when the hurricanes start moving.

I hear the heat wave back East is finally breaking today?

Yes the terrible heat wave finally broke after the thunderstorms last night and its in the 70s here today.

I remember when I lived in MI, it could be 100 one day and 70 the next. You don't get that here in CA. Very very unlikely that the temp drops that drastically. We know it'll be in the 80s or whatever, with slight/gradual drops/gains in temps.

My father use to always joke with me when I'd say how great the weather is. He'd say "how boring, same thing every day, every day with no variety."

The Emergency Broadcast signal on my tv has come off/on about flash flood warning in my county (not unusual) today. However, I have NEVER been in or seen and am not even quite sure what a flash flood is. Thankfully I'm not in a a flash flood area.

Cooler here today also, that's the summer over then.....

Not much of a break in South Jersey. Hit 92 Sunday, still humid. Upper 80's this week. I hope August is better.

92 yesterday?! Im glad im up in north jersey, its right around 78 out and feels greatout.

Probably as I post this, it'll change BUT we've had great weather here. We had that short spree of triple digits about a month ago but not since. Usually July & August are many triple digit days. It's been mid to high 80's and looks like we'll finish the month with those temps. I haven't had to run my air much at all. Then again we have Aug/Sept to deal with yet.

It continues to be perfect here in sunny SoCal. We've kept the mid 80s and sunny and clear (no smog). Can't complain at all.
