Yeah when Natale got out in october of 1994 Merlino was still inside on supervised release violations. When Merlino got out he "made" Natale. AT that time Merlino was merely a soldier. The authority of a soldier to make a guy is in and of itself questionable, and calls into question Natales button. I am sure that had an effect on Natales recognition as not only boss, but as merely a made guy.

Merlino had a loyal following, but he was well known for being a very selfish guy who never did the right thing with respect to the family. Bet in to most of his guys books under different names and never paid. Didnt take care of any of his guys when they were away. Joey is about Joey.

If Nicky jr. would have spent more time thru the years in south Philly and he was a little aggresive things would of been diff .The young philly guys really did not know him that well..They thought the silver spoon thing .But anyway it could have stayed in the Scarfo fam Nick jr just did not have the {young turk } with him, or he may not of been boss but it could have stayed in the fam..Joey and nick jr were good friends back then ,guess Joey was bullshiting..And very jealous or they could have worked together..but Joey was a HOG just like u said...

I thought he put out alot of money for lawyers for a bunch of guys when they along with merlino went down. Ive never heard of that, I suppose its possible but it may have been raised through a party he threw where he asked for donations to pay for legal fees. The main problem with him is that he was such a huge degenerate gambler that he was willing to rip his own guys off by betting into their books. A big reason scafidi and Natale flipped is that Joey stopped sending them any money when they went away and didnt help their families. When Borgese got word that scafidi was considering flipping he wrote scafidi a letter offering to give him money and take care of his wife when they hadn't done so throughout his whole bid.

He sent Horsehead a 100 bucks for his commissary lol

Natale went away for burning down Mr Living Room and for drugs in the late 70's. He was Bruno's guy at the union. Scarfo and Testa backed Gerace. There was serious problem when Bruno told Testa and Scarfo to fall in line but they refused. Then Natale got sent away so the problem went away with him.
Believe it or not Ralph was a respected guy back then, he didn't become a joke until he took over after his release from prison. Union Enforcer Charlie Allen testified he was asked by Ralph to get a bunch of guns because they thought 2 factions were going to start shooting. That was Bruno against Testa and Scarfo.
Bruno was losing control of that family long before Caponigro killed him. Ralph Natale was a stone cold killer He blew that Union guys brains out In 73

Half the guys i know want to kill there wives. But so far they're all still alive. Was Mimi a looker in her younger days? I don't think i've ever seen her. Anyone that would marry that maniac must of been a little off her rocker too. Yea she was not bad.Better then you think .And i dont know if nick made her nuts or she drove him nutz deliberately.
