Sorry if some1 already started a thread like this but i gotta say that....yesterday i saw the movie "The Iceman" and i gotta say that it was one of the shittiest mob movies that i ever saw in my life. The producers should've give away the cash for the movie to some children in Africa, instead of this
Mongol General: Conan, what is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
One of the worst that I ever saw was Mobsters (1991).The movie is based on the early days of Luciano,Siegel,Costello, and Lansky, and their involvement in the Masseria/Maranzno war. The casting was ridiculous,(Christian Slater as Lucky and Patrick Dempsey as Lansky),the dialogue stereotypical, and the performances laughable. If you get a chance to watch it,view it as a comedy, and you will enjoy it much more. The cast should be charged with loitering in front of a camera.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I liked Mobsters. Seen it multiple times.
Admittedly, it was far from perfect and deviated from known facts. But it is the only movie that I'm aware of that highlights the rise of the young mobsters to the top. And if one is interested in a movie about Luciano, the choices seem to be limited to Mobsters and Lucky Luciano.
You shit-kicking, stinky, horse-manure-smelling motherfucker you! If you ever get out of line over there again, I'll smash your fucking head so hard you won't be able to get that cowboy hat on. You hear me? Fucking hick. -Nicky (Casino)

It'll definitely be based on the novel. But this movie has been in the works for a while and it keeps on getting delayed.

The Sicilian is pretty bad if you can count that as a Mob Movie..
The Mafia Is Not Primarily An Organisation Of Murderers. First And Foremost,The Mafia Is Made Up Of Thieves. It Is Driven By Greed And Controlled By Fear.
Between The Law And The Mafia, The Law Is Not The Most To Be Feared
"What if the Mafia were not an organization but a widespread Sicilian attitude of hostility towards the law?"

The honor (or dishonor) of worst Mob movie goes to "The Valachi Papers" (starring Charles Bronson). The acting was terrible and it was almost funny to see all the "mistakes" shown in the movie (like 1960's cars in a scene that was supposed to take place in the 1920s).

Geez,I forgot all about that one, thank you for allowing me to relive the horror of that little opus. I'm off to see Dr.Melfi now to block the memory.
From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn.
i thought street boss had a decent story just needed more money for better production. The worst movie was this thing of ours starring danny provenzano, frank vincent, there was no specific bit that was bad it was all equally shitty.

Yes streetboss was a good story done horribly. Ya this thing of ours definatly deserves a high spot on the list, it just goes to show that even a great cast cant make up for shitty dialouge and a shallow story plot. And ofcourse, danny provenzano is one of the biggest jerkoffs out there.

There are many different point of views about worst movies.Theres the age or the taste for movies. For example two of the most worst movies for me were Mean Streets and The Pope of Greenwich Village, after that goes The Valachi Papers and Mobsters maybe(gotta respect Anthony Quinn). Now i know most old timers here love thouse movies, but fuck it i cant stand em.As for flicks like Witness for the mob or The Sinatra club,i dont even consider thouse as movies.

The thing is...maybe i was wrong about the age, maybe its the taste i dunno...but what the hell i really didnt like thouse movies.First time i saw Mean streets was somewhere around 95 thats when Casino came out i think. So Mean streets to me back than was like a joke and still it is.As for The Pope, just not my taste, but i have respect for Mickey Ruourke though

Haven't seen the pope of greewich village, but Mean Streets is one of the best mob movies i've seen. There's something about Harvey Keitel in that movie that i love, even though i don't like him in anything else except his brief part in Taxi Driver. Robert Deniro is great as usual and it's a Scorcese film, i've yet to see a bad film from him but i haven't seen all of his films. The scene in the pool hall is brilliant imo.
By far it was 10th and Wolf. Didn't Pistone act or directed it?
il give 10th and wolf credit for the effort and production,it wasnt the greatest film. but trust me when i say this thing of ours is awful. heres a link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTlJqyFSzt4

the story is unbeleivable, the locations are tacky and fake looking, you can tell this danny pro guy has written it because everything they say just sounds really forced, even some of the big names cant pull off the lines. Also they use trance music at the end for some weird reason.
Thanks for posting Scorsese, a lot of good actors on this movie. Watched the first 5 minutes and I got to tell you, it's much better than 10th and wolf. I think that movie went straight to youtube even before it went to video. Thanks again

I gotta disagree bean, to me 10th and wolf was pretty entertaining and i liked for the fact that there just arent that many philly mob movies out there. All i could think about while watching this thing of ours is how big of a jerkoff provenzano is.

Not seen it yet but i wouldn't be surprised if it was good or at least ok, because Mean Streets has been mentioned in this thread
I screwed up and watched This Thing Of Ours on youtube Friday and boy did I waste an hour and 40 minutes. Like others have said it is HBO cheap quality (before Sopranos) and most of the acting was horrible. Not to mention all the public killings in the movie would have had the whole bunch locked up....LOL.
