Gotti's decision to kill castelano..Basically was the start of the end for the mob..They had it very good until that happened !!
As for roy demeo, i don't know if he would have become a snitch or not, but castelano killing him made it much easier for gotti to kill castelano !! The 80s was fucked up Gambinos-Gotti killing Paul,But paul have lots of legal problems beforehand Bonnano-donnie brasco incident fucked them up pretty good Luchese-Vic and gas Colombo-Just lost the legendary Carmine persico for life

Gotti's decision to kill castelano..Basically was the start of the end for the mob..They had it very good until that happened !! I agree it was a bad decision An argument can also be made from the other spectrum. It was either kill Castellano or Gotti was going to be killed. He struck first and thus from Gotti's perspective it was a good decision.
Tommy Shots: They want me running the family, don't they know I have a young wife? Sal Vitale: (laughs) Tommy, jump in, the water's fine.

if people knew he was soft, why kill him? barney had to know..who would have the balls to kill his main guy and no bodies when barney comes home..were they compare's? This is what im thinking even if he was pocketing money the genevese could have gotten way more out of him in the last 15 years,This guy was a great earner. And barney now is the top top guy he could of avenged RC and shelved this frank serpico.(lol this guy has the exact same name as the least corrupt cop in history) A few years ago i read an article on RC and in the comments section there was a guy who was apparently a guy who knew/related to RC and he had nothing but bad things to say about barney and none else.He didnt mention the genevse or the life his anger was very specific at barney for not only whacking him but also for bringing him into the life this? Submitted by Tony (Monte), Mar 6, 2007 17:40 Jerry Capeci should do an article on how Liborio "Barney" Bellomo got indicted for basically saying from a prison cell how he wouldn't mind if the Wiseguys on the outside put a hit on Ralphie Coppola. Is that justice? Was that even giving an OK on the hit ? Those issues will be settled in a courtroom, but there is a higher justice being served with "Barney's" indictment. Barney was the one who bought Ralph into the Mob. Ralph, an extraordinary kid from the Bronx, a natural leader who could of been successful in any of life's endeavors. Barney selected Ralph, Ralph did not pick Barney. So maybe there is justice being served with this indictment. Maybe someone's life path was changed at a critical moment by someone who had no business associating with anyone. Did Barney kill Ralph ? Not physically, but there are other layers of existence that we as Human beings have influence upon. Most are judged in the next life, but sometimes the injustice is so great that judgement and punishment are meeted out here on this plane of existence. As imperfect as we are. Ralph's nickname was "Sparrow" when he was a young Ballplayer. Mockingbirds shouln't be the only protected species . The Human spirit takes many forms. I will always remember Ralph the way he was, he will not be so easy to forget
When Interpol?

Greg Scarpa Jr. is actually in Iowa State Prison located in Ft Madison, Iowa. I found this out from a guy who grew up with him and we somehow got involved in conversation outside an AA meeting and as we talked and he realized I knew most of the names he was talking about, he asked if I wanted to go get something to eat. So we went to an Ihop and he showed me letters from Greg that were coming from the Iowa State Penitentiary. The connection with Iowa and me and thhs guy, whose name is Sonny (dont know or remember his last name) is the fact that I was born and raised in Iowa and I thought " What in the world would Greg be doing in an Iowa prison. We never have anything cool happen in Iowa or anything mob related, so when he, Sonny, told me this, that is what piqued my interest. He, Sonny, was, is working on some television program about Greg and his history. But yeah, he showed me letters and he also had a manilla envelope full of fbi files on Greg Jr. He also had a special cell phone that Greg had given him or somehow gotten it to him that was only used for calls between him and Greg and when he showed me the phone it had a 319 area code which is my old area code in Iowa. It made sense and with everything he had and said, you just knew this guy wasn't bullshitting. It was cool talking with him and we kept in contact for a little while but he was more about AA and im not, so we don't keep contact anymore but it was a very interesting night. I asked what came to mind within reason and I think he knew it was safe talking to me by the way I kinda knew what was off limits and what I could ask. Figured id throw that in there since I saw that someone still thought he was in ADX Florence.
