Im bored as hell and i thought id drum up some activity around here. Which (in your opinion) are the strongest crew/crews that operate in jersey? North or south. No wrong answer, just thought i could just see some entertaining discussion around here....

What are some crews that are in south jersey? And what is considered the dividing line between north and south jersey?

good thread skinny, in north jersey i would say the fiumara crew, they seem to have the most union control espicially at the ports. and in south jersey the bruschi crew is pretty active down there, the philly guys have a crew there to.

My guess would be DeVita crew or one of the Genovese crews

Toms river divides it to me. Ninny is mostly active in that area, he broke off from larry fab dentico and larry kept mostly the laborer unions and carpenter stuff he got when bobby manna got life. Tinos crew lost a lot imo in the past few yrs. T dieing and MC being down for another 10 or so yrs. doesnt help their point guy at the docks (depiro) went down, plus some street guys connected to garbage shake downs. Toner is big willy now and IMO doesnt draw the same weight as Tino. Devita draws a lot of weight in the cement and concrete industry. Especially around essex co. He got all of andy gerards street rackets.... So a lot of money.

They are still in the italian section in Elizabeth

A few social clubs "members only " are open there

Elizabeth is a shit hole with alot of hookers

Alot of racketeers hang at AJ in jersey city and ironically satin dolls in Lodi (which was the soprano go go lol ) but they are pretty low key

Both those areas are still pretty strong in OC

i think the lucheses are definatly behind the geneveses. they have been fucked by indictments in 07 with that shit involving the bloods and then in the big internet bust in 2010. and im pretty sure everyone could agree that licatas crew is the least powerful, sure they have a small gambling niche but thats about it.

skinny, do u kno if the bonannos have any crews in nj. i kno theres a few heavy guys livin out there but havent heard any activity.

The guy that shook down the old owners of satin dolls was john ravo who was under prisco and now pepe lascala. The lodi/rutherford/lyndhurst area is where the biggest concentration of guys are today

Outside of bayonne there is no bonanno crew BASED in jersey.

Id say the gambinos are behind the west side. Just my opinion... They only have one newark crew but there are many ny crews who are heavy in nj.

Skinny is there any Columbo presence in Jersey? Is Licata's crew really the weakest?

In my opinion scoops still holds a lot of juice in north jersey. He has been around bloomfeild ave for 40 plus years at least. That crew still is big into the staple stuff. Book with the pernas, beeps shy biz, numbers, machines, tickets.... Lots of money to be taken and that is a real quiet crew. Real low key. Beeps is millionaire. Nicky Olivieri and Lou Fazzini are proven work guys. A lot of that crew revolves around sports, which has always been pretty low key if done right. I mean look at the last time phil d got hit.

I was never able to find any LCN-connection to that case.



The last Colombo case in Jersey I'm aware of was when Ray Cagno was busted for racketeering and murder back in 2000.

westside in NJ seems like its own family at this point, you look at north/central jersey its huge territory, probably the most profitable area for wiseguys id say (outside of construction within 5 boroughs).. lots of money to be made in bergen,essex, monmouth, hudson, morris, somerset etc... lot of sports fans with lots of money, i would say more than westchester/connecticut. I also wonder if barney has any say/pull in jersey.

Any idea who controls stuff in Mercer County (Trenton/Princeton area). The area has always been considered the dividing line (in my opinion) between the NY Metro Area (north jersey) and the Philly metro area (south jersey). Back in the day you had Reds Pontani in Trenton (Philly family I believe) as well as the Russos (Gambino). Currently, I haven't heard of anything in the area.

Baldo, correct. Philly use to have a crew back in the 80s that were with Scarfo in Trenton. Not sure if any were even made but they did kick up to scarfo. South Jersey is Philly. North Jersey has like 4 families there right...Genovese, luchese, decavalcantes and Philly. Im sure the other families of NY have guys doing stuff but these are the only CREWS I was aware of.

Last mob run gambling joint in Chambersburg shut down in like 2010, that I knew of anyway, over on Hudson. Couple years back some low level Philly guy from the Burg got busted for a construction scam. But historically Mercer County was split between Philly and the Gambinos. Lots of street gang members in the area, and also members of Breed MC as they have big chapter in Bucks County, PA.

JS, I still hear of card games in the burg...wonder if anyone is getting a cut of that or its just some old timers playing around.

before 1999 ocean,capo,rotondo flipped they had a strong family of like 50 60 guys. I don't think any guy is still in jail from that huge decalvacante bust in 2000. only 3 guys flipped the other 3 bosses flipped there appeal and are out or home soon. im guessing they must still have a very strong stance in middle jersey even if its only 30 guys. that family was all blood related and after the nyc guy telling them they cant make guys from ny anymore would further intrenched them in jersey.
