just a random question but it seems like we or some people look at all italian criminals or people with italian last names as participants or associates of cosa nostra. I think its possible that there are italian criminals that have nothing to do with LCN and operate solely on their own. Yeah we can see two bit hoods not affiliated with LCN but I honestly think we always look at the higher up ones always affiliated one way or another, wrongly.

If we are talking about history then Tony Grasso immediately came to my mind when i read this thread. he ran a big numbers and gambling ring in Pittsburgh independent of the LCN. And i know of a decent amount of bookmakers in the tri-state area that are not LCN connected(depending on what your definition of connected is).

an example.. hate to admit it but i watch real housewives of n.j and ever since Giuseppe 'Joe' Giudice has ran into legal problems for his motor vehicle problem and his new 39 count fraud case which he and his wife Teresa Giudice are facing 50 years in prison ran into legal problems everyone has been saying or implying that Joe is affiliated with the Mob. We all know he has nothing to do with LCN but the general public sees otherwise and its sad.

I also have something else that I ran into today looking into the charges against Joe Giudice. I had no idea that Albert Manzo's dad was an "associate" with the Gambino's according to this cop. Albert "tiny" Manzo Sr. was found in the back of his trunk with 4 gunshot wounds to his head. Here is the article talking about how he was the "biggest enforcer in New Jersey". one last thing about the real housewives of N.J has anyone seen the episodes from a few years ago when Danny Provenzano (served 5 years for racketeering and starred/was a producer in the movie 'this thing of ours') was brought in to be Danielle Staub's so called bodyguard. LOL he looks like a little bitch if you ask me, also Danielle's arrest history is pretty crazy, im pretty sure she was a stripper and got convicted on kidnapping and drug chargeds. real convicts of new jersey!

It´s almost like blasphemy being interested in organized crime and not know anything about the infamous Campisi clan. Especially if you´re New Jersey residents.
Although a few of them were made, the clan raised hell in the 1960s when they became renegades, branched out and did stuff on their own. They killed a lot and one of their victims was Lolly Luciano (I think his name was), a made guy with the Philly Mafia. They were extremely violent and killed people during robberies. They also killed a potential witness against them when LE was closing in. The clan, I think nine of them, were arrested in 1973 and indicted in 1974 on charges of murder, gambling, heroin and cocain dealing and 100 counts of robberies. In 1975, they were all convicted and sentenced to prison. Peter Anthony Campisi, nicknamed "PiPi" (Manzo´s partner) was sentenced to 15 years after pleading out but released already in 1979. He was made by the Gambinos two years later and put with Frank Perrone. Interestingly, some FBI documents say he rose to the rank of a captain, although only been made for a short time when killed. He was found dead from two shots in the head in the trunk of his wife´s car, in July of 1983. The murder was never solved.

They were all Newark based. I don´t know where Lolly was killed, but the Campisis commited crimes all over NJ.

There´s a book on them, To Drop A Dime, but I haven´t read it. Don´t know how accurate it is.
