Stepped onto the deck this morning and was greeted by chilly, invigorating breezes. Temperatures in the mid50s, going up to 65 later.

Saturday morning was a little brisk. I had the windows open and pulled up the comforter. Good sleeping weather.

We've had a week of summer. It's supposed to be very warm again today, but it's extremely overcast.

olivant, I was doing garage and yard work outside yesterday, stepped inside drenching in sweat from the heat, and happen to see some of the Rutgers and SMU game. I was surprised to see the fans in Dallas wearing coats at the game.

It got down in the 40s last night. I turned on the heat this morning. It's 61 now.

We finally had a weather break with TS Karen and a cool front. The AC was on this past week. Low 50s this morning. Bedroom windows open...a chilly wake-up.

It has cooled considerably but still blue skies and a gusty wind. It's perfect for drying bedding and towels on the washing line in the back. I have just hung mine up and put a fresh load in. I would make somebody a smashing little wife

Heavy persistent rains. There's some minor local flooding.

I'm 100 miles from Kly, and 7 miles from the ocean, but we are in the same weather system, fondly referred to as a Nor'easter. The winds and rain are similar to a hurricane, but the winds are less - maybe 25-50 mph. The bad thing about Nor'easters is that they can stall or move slowly. They can hang around for a few days like this one. Causes flooding and beach erosion.

I know I know. What to do? Buy an Umbrella !

Raining here today also. Have to say I have never owned an umbrella in my life, and I am from the north east of England, the wettest place in the world

Glorious sunshine. It's the kind of day that reinforces my belief that October is easily the best month of the year.

Contrary to what most think, there IS a change of season here in CA (tho no where near as back East). You can smell Fall in the air. Our temps have been in high 60s - low 70s in the day and it's been getting down into the hi 30's low 40s in the evening.

Can't complain.

Au contrary my good man. Newcastle has an annual rainfall of 26.4 inches as compared to my neighboring town of Atlantic City ; 41.75 inches. The "wettest" place on earth for rainfall is Mt. Waialeale, Hawaii; 460 inches annual. You're practically in the desert.

To be fair, Yogi didn't say the "rainiest" place on eart, but the "wettest."

I hear the UK is set for a snowy November, i hope the government are prepared for it as the transport system normally comes to a stand still when we-you get bad weather.

I heard that as well, and I would bet my mortgage that nothing will be ready and we will be plunged into the usual winter chaos

Aaaaaaaaaaaa Frost on my car windshield this morning! 33 degrees on the car thermometer. Gosh I don't like the cold. As I get older my hands are affected more and more each year.

Here in NC it is Projected to be in high 70's today, but to get colder tomorrow.
today could be our last warm day for a while.
