I can´t answer your question exactly but I believe Joe Masseria had nine sons. To my knowledge, none of the sons followed in Masseria´s footsteps. I think Maranzano only had one daughter (and no sons). Maranzano had asked Joe Bonanno if he might be interested in marrying his daughter. Bonanno had to turn the proposal down because he was already engaged to his future wife, Fay.

Here´s a picture of Masseria and wife with one of their sons, Joseph JR.

Maranzano had 3 sons 1 daughter. I'm pretty sure none followed his footsteps either.

Thanks for the info, ht2. Now when I think of it, one of Maranzano´s sons was interviewed on one of the many Mafia related documentaries found on youtube. I can´t remember which one, but I do remember thinking that he was mostly bullshitting. I think the doc was once posted on this forum. I think his name is Jerry...

I think Jerry Maranzano claimed to have been a nephew. He was on an old FOX show from 1994 about the Mafia called "Loyalty and Betrayal: The Story of the American Mob."

Yeah that´s the one. I wonder if Jerry is similar to his infamous uncle in appearance...

Good question, considering that the one and only picture they've been foisting upon us for years(grainy B&W of the mildly smirking man with a slightly receding hairline)isn't really Maranzano. The only other picture I've seen of him is a blurry overhead angle shot of him dead on his office floor. While Maranzano was outfoxed by Luciano,my impression of his nephew is that he'd be outfoxed by Fredo Corleone. For the most part though,I really enjoyed the video(my 1st viewing of it),with the exception of Phil Leonetti's LA Cosa Nostra.Every time I've ever seen or heard him discussing his former life,he ALWAYS says LA Cosa Nostra----he probably calls macaroni PASSTAH.

Just learned that Angelo, Antonia, Domenico and Mariano are the names of Maranzano´s children. His wife´s name was Elizabetta.

My favorite parts of Man Of Honor were when Bonanno would describe Maranzano's personality and demeanor during the Castellamarese war while shacked up with his men in a safehouse, how Maranzano was like a warrior up late at night making his own bullets, plotting and scheming on Masseria. I was always disappointed in the lack of information on these two (Maranzano and Masseria)
