Was Lauria a stidda boss? I thought he was the Cosa Nostra boss of Raffadali and the supervisor of the hitman squad for the Agrigento province boss Carmelo Colletti. Later he killed his boss, but as far as I know he did it for other cosa nostra characters, not for the stidda.

Lauria was a Stidda capo.

I haven't read any mafia book ever so I don't know what you read or from where. Lauria did kill Colletti but Lauria was part of Stidda when Riina went to war and killed him.

Btw does Toto Riina still have some power? Can he get orders out,and would anyone follow his orders?

Because they were all crazy to begin with. They wanted their own rules (basically that there were no rules), they were rebels against the corleonesi and honestly it wasn't just a handful of men. They had an army of their own and they did a lot of damage, as you know.

As far as Riina goes, of course he can still get orders out. Look at the publicity he made just shouting something out of his cell mid-November, about killing Di Matteo. He's got his sons and plenty of loyalists still out there willing to do what he wants. Italian gov't is taking it serious enough that they've tightened security for prosecutors and given Di Matteo a bomb jammer, b/c it's being talked about that they are going to go back to their old ways of using bombs. Not sure about that, but they wouldn't call Riina's bluff regardless.
