Article on Partilal verdict...no new info though. Jurors reach partial verdict in mob trial Jeremy Roebuck, Inquirer Staff Writer January 17, 2014 Jurors in the racketeering retrial of reputed Philadelphia mob boss Joseph Ligambi and his nephew George Borgesi said Friday they had reached a partial verdict, but a federal judge urged them to keep deliberating. In a note sent to the judge just before 10:30 a.m., the jurors said that they had found unanimity on two of the five counts against the mob figures, but there remained "a firm difference of opinion on the other three." They gave no indication on which counts they had made a decision. "This was a long trial and there were some complex issues," U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno told the group before sending them back for further discussion. "Often with further discussions, jurors are able to work out there differences." Friday's note came four days after the panel of 11 women and one man told the judge they had reached an impasse and were unable to come to a decision on any of the counts. Witness describes collecting debts for the mob Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Labor said that the three days of deliberations since showed the group was making some headway in their logjam. "They're making progress," he said in court. "Monday they thought they were done, and now we've had three days and they have a verdict on three counts." Last year, a different jury deliberated for 21 days on the same charges before declaring they were hopelessly deadlocked. That inability to reach a verdict resulted in a mistrial and prompted the current retrial. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/breaking/20140118_Jurors_reach_partial_verdict_in_mob_trial.html

The witness tampering charge that Ligambi is charged with, what's that from again. That charge is bullshit, all he did was ask the photographer from stainos weeding not to give the feds a group photo of all "the boys", the photographer even admited that he didnt even feel threatened by ligambi, its not like ligambi sent guys after him with baseball bats or stuck a gun in the guys face. The witness intimidation charge was probably thrown in there just to make sure Ligambi wasn't granted bail.

Jesus. Well the EVIDENCE is very thin here guys. Whether you believe it personally or not, it's a tough case to prove.
But I can hear Borgesi yelling out to his wife now, "Better get those martini glasses chilled, baby!"

I wonder if they are released what actions, if any, are they going to take against Scoops Licata for running his mouth on the Stefanelli tapes, Anthony Borgesi being his usual jerk off self and pointing fingers as to why Joey is not on trial and Borgesi's wife and Mother for threatening jurors? Also are Joe and Georgie going to kiss and make up? And what about resolving who authorized the Nicodemo's shooting while they were in trial? -For Licata, everyone gets caught on a wire. It happens. The only thing he said was Joe was the acting boss. All he was doing was making the proper introduction. They all got caught on the Stefanelli tapes. -There wasn't really any intimidation going on. Some of the jurors just didn't like the look Alyson was giving them. -Ligambi and Borgesi resolved their issues during the first trial according to GA. They've been locked up together for almost 3 years, and have been seen joking together in court, so they've had time to rebuild their troubled relationship. -Sorting out the Nicodemo thing is priority #1.
