Many of the Bonanno's from that time were based in the southern end of little Italy by Knickerbocker Village. Not just Lefty, but at least half a dozen made guys lived in Knickerbocker village or near Monroe, Pearl and Madison Streets. This included Anthony Mirra. Richard Canterella controlled the NY POST building right there. Nicky "Cigars" Marangello, albert emberrato and Joey D'amico also lived in knickerbocker and had a stake at the NYPost.

I guess this doesn't answer your question but I always thought it was interesting that so many Bonanno's came from one apartment complex.
