Which families do they label as active ivy ? To my mind there r only 11 out of the original 26 . The five in New York , buffalo , decavalcante , Philly , Chicago , Detroit, patriarca According to the feds and most organized crime experts, there are 10 at most: the 5 NY families, New Jersey, New England, Philadelphia, Chicago, and maybe Detroit. That's it. Nobody else. Not Buffalo. Not Kansas City. Not Rockford. Nor any other family some misguided soul wants to argue about. That said, here's what they under under the title "What's Happened to the Mafia Families:" NEW YORK'S BIG FIVEBonanno - Active New York, Arizona, Connecticut & Florida Colombo - Active New York, Connecticut & Florida Gambino - Active New York, Connecticut & Florida Genovese - Active New York, Connecticut & Florida Lucchese - Active New York, Connecticut & Florida BIRMINGHAM Crime family eradicated BUFFALOMagaddino - Active CHICAGOThe Outfit - Active in Illinois & Las Vegas ClevelandPorrello - Active DALLASCrime family eradicated DENVERCrime family eradicated DETROITZerelli - Active KANSAS CITYCivella - Active Missouri & Las Vegas LOS ANGELESDeSimone - Active MILWAUKEEBalistrieri- On the ropes NEW ENGLANDPatriarca -Active in Boston & Providence NEW JERSEYDeCavalcante- On the ropes NEW ORLEANSMarcello- On the ropes PENNSYLVANIABruno - Active in Philadelphia & Atlantic City Bufalino - On the ropes LaRocca -Active in Pittsburgh & Ohio ROCHESTERCrime family eradicated SAN FRANCISCO Crime family eradicated SAN JOSECerrito - On the ropes SEATTLEColacurcio - Active ST. LOUISGiordano - Active TAMPATrafficante - Active However, elsewhere it says: The Cosa Nostra in California has almost completely disappeared. Denver, Kansas City, Dallas, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Rochester crews are nonexistent too. New Orleans, Tampa, Buffalo, and New England are shadows of their former selves. The gangs in Detroit, Philadelphia, and New Jersey are on their knees. The once-powerful Chicago Syndicate is greatly reduced in numbers and effectiveness. Only in New York does the Mob maintain momentum.

Pretty bizarre list and set of allegations. Does anyone seriously think that Decals are on the ropes, but buffalo, new orleans, san jose and detriot are active? I will not even get into the fact that they don't list the Five Families in New Jersey, which has always been prime territory for them.
Should probably ask Mr. Kierney. I guess if you're Italian, you should be in prison. I've read the RICO Act, and I can tell you it's more appropriate... for some of those guys over in Washington than it is for me or any of my fellas here
