Ok, replying a couple months later.... BUT I think I have that record (on 45) Nicky. I like the song. As a matter of fact I saw the Cowsills in Michigan when they first came out. If I recall, a mother and her children. I also liked their version of "HAIR" a song from the Broadway play back in the olden days. TIS Good band! I only know them because of Dumb and Dumber

Great thread, TIS. And like TonyM says, like the Energizer bunny, could go on and on. Couple of things I noticed, most cited tunes are rock -- and from a particular point in Pop music history. Whether that's a reflection of the music at the time or because of our own ages, or both is a good question, I think.
Also, being an inner city kid at the time, more into rhythum and flash than social angst, it was Motown, Stax, etc. all the way all the time. Interestingly, it seems also 'soul' music was more apt to contain the title than other styles of musical expression. Don't know why that is.
Another cool thread along these lines would be songs whose titles we all got wrong. For the life of me, can't think of a single example, but too, bet there are loads and loads.
