Although who knows, #3 could very well be Simonelli but we'll never know because it doesn't look like he is gonna answer anytime soon. Snakes - here's a link to some pictures from Wayne Johnson's blog. Might want to take a look. At the bottom of each page look at "older post." Two or three pages of some pictures. Most you've probably seen, but you might come across something that would help identify these guys. Good luck. http://ahistoryofviolenceinchicago.blogspot.com

I am armed with some new intel per a response from Fosco himself. I submitted the following: 1. Amato 2. Tuna 3. Pranno 4. Gagliano 5. Fischetti 6. Potenza 7. Ferriola (back turned pants wet; was a wild guess) 8. Palermo 9. Adduci 10. Cerone 11. DeStefano He had this to say: Gag's is not there. Only in Ferriola's wettest dream would he be at such a gathering at that period in time. DeStefano was Paul R's guy, therefore, he would have no place in this setting. Perhaps if Paul was present, DeStefano might be there. But maddeningly, no mention of how many correct. Swap out Ricca for Cerone, and bingo? It can't be that easy, can it?

Could Aducci be 5th from left with his shirt open? The hair, nose and eyebrows match, as does the pinkie ring.

ok, pranno is behind batters, fischetti is the one with his shirt open, wearing a watch. the bald headed guy sitting away from batters, and, next to the guy with the sunglasses looks more like giancana than cerone.

I still think 10 is Cerone. I can't see cerone, if you look at some pics of giancana, without a hat, it could be him. oh, by the way in the parking lot is a 56 chevy. pic must be 1956. My main reason is that Cerone was always a bit chubbier and the guy in the pic looks consistent with Jack's weight. Who knows though, you could be right.

Mooney still had a little hair on top at this time. This guy has nothing left but the Hippocratic wreath. Yep. I don't think Mooney's hair was that far gone either.

Alright, since we drug this up again, here are my guesses with supporting photos. I tried to use photos from the era, in the cases of Nicoletti and DeStefano I used multiple images that span the period. I have no guesses for #7, the soggy bottom boy or #8, pencil neck. I have only changed my mind on one in the 9 months since I sent my list to Fosco (and received no reply). I came around to the notion that the cigar man was DeStefano.

I don't think that's Nicoletti, but the Palermo guess is a good one. Not a guess. I knew Nick when I worked at a jewelery store in Elmwood Pk, back in the 80s. I just knew him as Nicky the plumber. He would come around with stuff that needed fixing about once a month. He would hang around the workroom all day chewin the fat. I didn't realize he was Nick Palermo until his wake. I knew Nicoletti by sight as well. I cooked or bussed in a half dozen restaurants in Northlake, Melrose and Franklin Parks ca. 72-76 we knew to keep his cigarette lit and not to spill coffee on him.

For what it's worth, Fosco mentioned to me in an email that Gags definitely wasn't in the pic, and intimated that the only way DeStefano would have been in the pic were Ricca to be in it as well. Hence, Cerone/Mooney would be Ricca.
EDIT: Not that any of this matters, as Fosco's probably too busy defending Bill Cosby (yeah, he seems to have lost the plot a bit) to respond anyway.

That's definitely not Chuckie Nicoletti - as a young man, he had light hair. I wonder if that might instead be Joe Fischetti or perhaps even a younger Ross Prio.
I would say that could be Aducci based on looks, though I wonder if a state rep of that caliber would be stupid enough to play cards with a bunch of hoods in a public park. It could also be Rocco Fischetti who also had hair like that.
I think that could be DeStefano as the last guy - that's a great guess. Adduci was either an associate or an actual member of the old Grand Avenue Crew in the 1930s before he went into politics. The Outfit in its heyday had politicians and probably judges who were actual made members. Yeah but even so, guys in office needed to be smart and not associate so openly with hoods. I believe Adduci resigned his post before he was to be indicted on conspiracy charges. Perhaps this could be "after" he had resigned and there was no more need to hide his association?

First that isn't Fischetti. Here's pic of the Fischetti brothers while Charlie was alive (died early in '51) We know Fosco's pic in no earlier than '56 ('56 Belair in the pic) Joey(right) is already balding and paunchy. Next, we don't necessarily see every one in attendance, just a bunch of guys around one picnic table. Anyone else could be milling around. Third, don't assume that this is some kind of meeting, it may just be a picnic. In '56, Joe B held the last July 4th party at his home. In '58 they started holding them at Jackie the Lackey's house. Perhaps they held the 1957 party at a picnic grove. As such it was a social event and anyone who didn't have a contract out on them may have been there.

They were pretty open about their associations. Roland Libonati defended Capone and the rest of his Outfit buddies even while he sat in Congress.
