I felt that he and Toni Morrison were the greatest living writers on the planet, and now there is one.

His works will be read and studied for centuries. One Hundred Years of Solitude will change the way one looks at literature. He stands among the great writers of the 20th century.

I'm not sure if he was the greatest author of our time, but I enjoyed some of his books.
