I don't follow Philly too closely. But I have to say, for as small as they are, there's never a dull moment . I think it all sounds like a load of crap. The Narducci's have legitimate viable business's that they can hang around or sit around in sweatpants the rest of their life and it wouldn't matter despite what Jose says

Imagine the west side all playing softball. Benny eggs catching , Ida pitching. Chin coaching. Salerno playing first. To me they are a carciacature.

Philly is a curiosity. "15 to 20 made guys on the street" ( http://www.myfoxphilly.com/story/25205343/wiseguys-out-of-jail-local-mob-in-chaos#ixzz2ysAQswk6). In a city of 6 million and there's talk of 'factions fighting over a smaller and smaller pie'?!?! Why are there such a small number of made guys on the street in a city this size, this is not Chicago where 'making a guy' is not necessarily a done thing, or at least comparable to the East coast families. Philly has the second largest Italian population in the US ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Philadelphia#Italians) This is a city of 6 mil with 15-20odd made guys on the street, and a huge Italian-American population. Surely if nothing else there would be more than enough 'pie' for all, if not the potential opportunity to expand. And this considering Philly has a reach into atlantic city and Jersey. Doesnt make sense imo in terms of size of the family to size of the city, considering its Italian demographic.

If you seen them pics with Phil Narducci at club Encore, he is with his nephews Frank and Joe Baldino. They were part of the Operation High Roller in the Borgata back in 2007. Also in the picture was Andrew Micali, who was running the whole operation at the Borgata.. Also I read that Andrew Mical was gettin mail from Phil Narducci while Narducci was in prison.. Also Joey Merlino was writing Micali from prison. I thought that was pretty interesting. Also Narducci and Merlino and all them are all around the same age. Now Narducci was made probably 5-6 years before Merlino but im sure all the guys gettin out in there 50's are already familiar with all of Merlinos guys. South Philly everybody knows everybody.

It's the upward mobility of Italian Americans that's depleting the ranks, not an actual lack of Italian Americans. Absolutley. My curiosity just comes from what seems a disproportionate effect in Philly. NY can sustain 10times the number of wiseguys than Philly and is only 3 times the size. That differential just makes me curious is all. Perhaps there were reasons or something I was missing that would explain the difference. As always, my thanks for all opinions and genuine contributions.

What was/is "operation high roller"? Will George Anastasia write a book about it? Not before he's done with the ones he's been writing: - "Joe Ligambi's Gardening & TV couching Habits" - "The mob is dead. Again. This time for real. I swear - Part 4" - "Dave and I: the dangerous life of stalking geriatric Italians in s. philly" as well his autobiography: - "The Last Gangster-reporter: I wish I lived in New York." Since that we're at it, you should definitely check Dave's: - "No-news news: the art of hyping your local underworld for the amusement of midwestern transplants." These are all must-reads!

you gotta think the Narduccis were locked up for like 25 years and missed out on half there life. They were raised in the mob. If that was me I would be looking for some extra money to enjoy the remaining years of my life after missing so much.

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/201404..._boyfriend.htmlThe legal problems just keep mounting for reputed mob associate Ronald Galati Sr. Already under arrest in a murder-for-hire plot in Philadelphia, and under scrutiny from a Pennsylvania grand jury probing insurance fraud, the 63-year-old auto mechanic now faces federal charges alleging that he offered to pay three men to kill the boyfriend of his daughter Tiffany, 33. In an indictment unsealed Thursday, federal prosecutors in Camden accused Galati of orchestrating a November attack on Andrew Tuono, 34, outside an Atlantic City home. Tuono survived but was left with three bullet wounds to the stomach. Galati's lawyer, Anthony Voci Jr., said the new charges were expected and his client maintains his innocence. "I've been representing Mr. Galati for six months, and I haven't seen a shred of physical evidence," he said. "All I've been confronted with are bald allegations supported by say-so assertions." The latest case against Galati, owner of American Collision & Automotive Center near 20th and McKean Streets in South Philadelphia, comes four months after his arrest in the city on charges that he hired three men to kill a witness who testified against him in the ongoing grand jury probe. Testimony from two of those would-be assassins - Ronald Walker and Alvin Matthews - lies at the heart of the New Jersey case. The men told FBI agents that in addition to targeting the witness, Galati offered to pay them $20,000 if they carried out a hit on Tuono. Though investigators have not specified what drove Galati's desire to see Tuono dead, federal prosecutors allege that he had been mulling the decision for months. As early as June, they said, Galati interrupted a family dinner to pull Tuono into a kitchen and threaten his life. Five months later, according to Thursday's indictment, Galati hired Walker, Matthews, and Jerome Johnson, 45, of Philadelphia, to carry out the deed. Walker and Matthews, who were arrested shortly after the attempt on Tuono, pleaded guilty last month to federal firearms charges and conspiracy to commit murder for hire. Johnson was also indicted Thursday. It remained unclear whether he has retained an attorney. Galati has remained in custody in Philadelphia without bail since city prosecutors accused him in December of hiring the same trio to kill Joseph Rao Sr., a rival mechanic who testified against him before the grand jury, and Rao's son. That plot was stopped before any attempt was made on their lives. In arguing to keep Galati behind bars until his trial scheduled for July, prosecutors cited his "close personal connections" to top mob figures, including reputed Philadelphia mob boss Joseph "Uncle Joe" Ligambi. Prison logs show that Galati visited Ligambi and his nephew George Borgesi in prison while the two awaited trial last year on racketeering conspiracy charges. (The jury acquitted Borgesi and split on Ligambi; prosecutors said they won't try him again.) Galati also hired Ligambi's wife to work at an auto-body repair shop owned by his son. Voci, Galati's lawyer, said Thursday he intended to raise the question of bail once more in his client's new federal case. If convicted of the charges in New Jersey, Galati could face up to 20 years in prison. Read more at http://www.philly.com/philly/news/201404...AEP2O6xSirBG.99

So Nicky Milano is back in the game from what I'm reading? I've been under the impression that he was given a pass, but was shelved due to contact over the years with his informant brother? I'm not a Philly guy, but I think it's just a matter of taking whatever and whoever you can get these days. I recently heard that a local shylock who went into Witness Protection more than fifteen years ago was back in the Bronx/Yonkers area and loaning money as a freelancer. The story goes that he came back to collect some old paper, and when he realized no one was looking for him anymore he decided to stay. I've said this before, but I wouldn't be totally shocked to see a rat taken back into the fold one of these days, providing that he pays his way back in. Now I'm not expecting it to happen. But I wouldn't be shocked by it, either.

I wonder if he actually owns the place down the shore. Where's he at again, Margate? If he does own it, he must've been pullin in atleast some decent loot to have a "vacation" home. You can get a two bedroom condo down there though for like 175 or 200k. And they put a lotta detail in that article, job, house, boss's name etc...I know it would be completely out of control if someone tried to take a shot at him but damn, they are making it easy if some south philly nut (aka nicodemo) wanted too. So two questions, what are the chances someone does hit him, or atleast take a shot, and you think this is the end for him or does he end up back in the can?
