Anyone who is a Billy Crystal fan will enjoy his one man HBO special called "700 Sundays". It is absolutely hilarious. He tells the story of his life with humor, anecdotes and raw emotion. Well worth a look. Highly recommend this! I saw it on Broadway almost ten years ago, Mark. With my Dad .

Anyone watching "Under the Dome?" Since Time Warner/CBS are feuding, I have to see it at my daughter's (she records it). I am really enjoying it. I haven't seen Monday's episode yet but will this week. My question, what is the deal with Junior? Is he a nutjob or not? TIS TIS, has anyone tried tunneling under the Dome?

Oli, Speaking of Under The Dome, it returns June 30th. I don't know much else except the previews said that this first episode was written by Stephen King(meaning the rest won't?). Considering how the season finale ended, I'm assuming storylines will be tied up in one way or another or however the book ended. Yet, to continue it as a weekly series, not sure who's doing the writing. At least it's a break from all the summer repeats. I look forward to its return. TIS

Robert DeNiro to star in new Chicago mafia movie
Thursday, May 29, 2014 Back in 2011 actor Robert De Niro and director Olivier Assayas sat side by side on the Cannes jury. Now they’re making a movie together. Assayas has just hired De Niro to join Robert Pattinson in the film Idol’s Eye. The movie is scheduled to shoot in October in Chicago and Toronto. The press release announcing the film doesn’t have many details, but there is speculation (via The Film Stage) that this is a retitled launch of the Assayas projectHubris. That was described in 2013 as “an action-packed crime thriller set against the backdrop of organized crime in Chicago in the 1970s.” Which would be something I’d watch the director of Carlos do in a heartbeat. Indeed, this new film is described as a sophisticated heist action/thriller. And with that Chicago location planned, these probably are one and the same. Or at least one jumps off from the other. Here’s a rundown. Hubris was a script by Bobby Moresco that Todd Field was going to direct back in 2011. It was based on a 2007 Playboy article called Boosting the Big Tuna, written by reporter Hillel Levin. The story was based on the murders of a crew of guys who robbed the house of Chicago mafia boss Tony Accardo’s (AKA “Big Tuna”) in 1978. After the break-in, several guys suspected of the crime were murdered with, well, let’s say extreme prejudice. Some were tortured. There’s a lot more to the story than that; it’s a hell of a gangland saga, with violence and a big multi-layered investigation. (It’s also the same material that Michael Mann was toying with shooting as Big Tuna a few years ago.) So where does the name Idol’s Eye come from? The Idol’s Eye is a big diamond — a bigfamous diamond, in fact. In the ’70s it was owned by a Chicago jeweler. It was never stolen, and was not part of the Big Tuna robbery. But there’s a connection. The owner of the diamond was Harry Levinson, a mob-connected guy. And in 1977 a thief named John Mendell targeted Levinson for his diamond, and planned a huge heist of the rock that was only partially successful. John Mendell is one of the guys who broke into Big Tuna’s place a year later. So what story is Assayas telling? We’d assume that De Niro is going to play Accardo, and Pattinson will be Mendell. But the title suggests this could be more about the attempt to steal the Idol’s Eye than the Accardo robbery. Both are big, great stories, with potential for some excellent cinematic flavor. Regaardless, I’ll watch it. Assayas had a good year at Cannes this year, too. While his current film, The Clouds of Sils Maria — a film about film — didn’t win the Palme d’Or, it earned a lot of appreciation while playing on the Croisette. We’re looking forward to seeing that, and having Idol’s Eye on the horizon is a bonus. http://www.slashfilm.com/oliver-assayas-robert-de-niro-idols-eye/

They are going to start shooting this October 2014?
I seriously doubt that. Even when they mention a movie is in production meaning they are planing to produce it. It does mean that they will ever make it. Doesn't even mean that it is true.
They actually been talking about making the Irishmen. About 4 months ago deNiro, Pesce, Pacino and scorese were in NY talking about making it. That's how they try to get financing for the movie. They can't get financing there s no movie. That could take three years to start shooting if,,,,, That's true. Those press conferences are usually a shameless way to pander for financing. Look at the Gotti movie with Travolta. That press conference was four years ago, and I said back then that it would never get made. The clown producer releases a statement every six months saying that they're "right on schedule," but it's never going to happen. And even if by some minuscule chance that it does get made, it will be straight-to-dvd with a cast full of nobodies.

LMAO at a "CSI: Miami" rerun. This couple's in a hotel and the people next door are making a lot of noise. So this guy says, "I'm gonna give them a piece of my mind." The wife says, "No! This is Florida, people have guns!" Florida even gets a bum rap on television .

I didn't mind the show either, but to tell you the truth, for some reason I got burnt out on all CSI shows. Hadn't watched them in years. But, for some reason, I can't get enough Law & Order. Go figure. I really like that show, especially the original. TIS

PB, thought of you today. We were in NJ and there was actually a Chicken Delight!! Can it be the same chain as the one that was on White Plains Road??? Oh my God! You remember that place!? The one on WP Road actually became a KFC for awhile, but I'm not sure what's over there now. And thanks for the '70s flashback. It's not like I've been feeling old lately .

Remember it? It was between Sal's Luncheonette and the Wakefield, on the same block as my uncle's jewelry store! My dad worked in the drugstore on the corner of White Plains Road and 233rd for decades. I remember you telling me about your Dad . That area really suffered from some urban decay back in the '90s. But since Montefiore took over the old Misericordia, the stores in that neighborhood seem to be doing a little better. Montefiore is a HUGE employer. When you add up all of the hospitals and small offices, they're one of the biggest employers in The Bronx.

Kelsey Grammer's on Letterman. Holy shit, did he get old! 59 years old, 28 year old wife, and a baby on the way. And his oldest daughter is 30. Only in Hollyweird .

Very young Barbara Eden as the manicurist on "Andy Griffith" right now. Boy, she really was beautiful . She was not only beautiful, but she had just about the best body around.
